DashHawk PIDs and Tips/Tricks

origional Q WB #1 is the only one with info. o on a side note i was running 2.03 for 2 months till i finaly upgraded to 2.3 that was a huge step forward. and the betas are experimental you dont need to run them but there are generly some cool options in there.

I'm running the Beta 8 firmware... Its awesome, the A/F ratios are great!!!! I've had no issues with the Beta 8, I thinks its the only version with A/F ratio capability...

Give it a try!!! I highly recommend it!!! (2thumbs)

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but can the dashhawk read boost levels and work as a boost gauge also? I may have to pick one up if this is the case, looks like a nice piece.

Thats why I got it... Its a vac/boost gauge, Air/Fuel gauge, its any gauge the engine has sensors for!!! You can display 2-7 different parameters; e.g. Boost, A/F, Engine temp, air intake temp, TPS, the list keep going and going.

Plus, its only one wire!!! And you don't have to cut into anything. Just plug it in and enjoy!!! Definitely beats having to route hoses and wires through the fire wall, figure out mounting locates, etc...

Definitely look into it!!! Two thumbs up!! (2thumbs)

I really don't know. I didn't use Beta 8 because I could never make up my mind if I wanted to try Beta software.

There's really no reason to NOT try the betas. I've used every beta since V2.2 and they've all worked for me. A few betas have a few issues with one or 2 PID's not showing up or working wrong but you don't have to worry about frying the DH. And if you don't like the beta for whatever reason, just flash it back to your old version. Its risk free. You really are missing out on quite a few features if you still have the V2.3 software.

Sometimes I am a slow learner. I am new to this game and I have much to learn. I am using 2.4 Beta 9.

Anyone know the data needed to do the Horsepower Configuration? Weight, Frontal Area, and Coeff. Drag?

Anyone actually done this? Results?

Weight - ??? Not sure but I put in 3400 for my 200 pound body plus fluids
Frontal area - 25.5 ft2 from Car & Driver
Drag Coeff. - 0.32 from Mazda spec sheet.

I don't put much stock in the HP figures. For one its doesn't take into account load. Say your driving up a 7% grade at 65 mph. It will read somewhere around 25 hp or so. It will read 25 hp even if you are going DOWN the grade. It obviously takes more horsepower to go up it than down it LOL! It might be fairly useful though on a flat road to do back to back comparisions say with or without CAI or SRI vs CAI.

I stumbled on this cool setup by accident...

I was trying to set up my alarm stages to only alarm me with one stage instead of the 1, 2, and 3 stages; like for a shift light and over boost indication.

Anyway, I set all three stages to the same RPM and numberical ???? >= (I forgot to change the screen/alarm colors.) Now, when I hit my shift point, my screen turns into a rainbow of colors indicating me when to shift!!! I went back and adjusted my colors to better suit my taste. (2thumbs)

I figured most of you already knew that, but it was a pretty neat accidental discovery for me... (lol2)
