DarkAngel's #771 03.5 MSP is going forged......(Build/Log)

^^^^ Thanks!

Got my Bearings in on Tuesday and picked them up yesterday. On to the building process, Finally!

my replacement block will be here friday. so im looking at dropping the motor in next week. for real this time lol.

subin. Ur car is coming along nicely. So it cost u around 400 for labor? Not bad. Hoping i can open a thread like this in the near future.

Yea just about. Its not as bad as some members here make it out to be. I will get my receipts but in total including all the parts they bought for me it was About $1181.00 and that included all the machining, balancing of the rotating assembly, rebuilt crank, cleaning/hot tanking, ARP Main and Head Studs, all cometic gaskets, etc.

Piston/Rod combo I bought for $900 shipped and the tally goes on. In the end its about $2400 because of all the extra stuff I desided to get like the DocB Pump Mod and PRV, etc.

Well you have to do the assembly and checking yourself though. My bro's and I have done it this way since we already have basic knowledge on rebuilding engines since back in High School.

Rebuilt a 350 Pontiac and shift kit on his tranny, helped in my younger brothers G54B Starion Engine( fun times, vacuum hoses were a pita! ), 302 Ford stock rebuild, and now my current project. Bro had his 4AGE at the shop same time I did but he finished the project with my younger brother already since he was going all stock parts. Never thought I would see his AE85 breath again. Good times. We do our own work unless the car is under warranty.

well i dropped my replacement block off today. ill have the motor on thursday. should be up and running next weekend. now im anxious :D

Subbin about to do this myself waiting on the machine shop so I can check the tolerances before I get the head gasket and rod bearings. Can't WAIT!

Dang it man. My oldest Daughter started her first days of kindergarten this week so getting used to her schedule and mine for now. Man I really miss her.... (cryhard). I work nights so it makes it a little harder to do things with my daughters but easier, I guess one could say, in the mornings. I am going to start taking out and moving accessories out of the way today or at least take several things apart and bag/label them accordingly. I dont have a lift right now to get it all out in one shot, currently at my brothers house anout 50 miles away.

By chance, does anyone know the length/size in bolts and thread/pitch needed for mounting the engine on the engine stand? Anyone please let me know asap so I can pick these up in the morning after I get out of work at 8AM. If not I will have to remove a transmission bolt and take it will me to the store.

I cant wait to get started already!!!(rockon)Bro helped me with a battery for the MSP. Got me all excited when all the lights and stereo came to life. Forgot about the alarm so it scared the crap out of me.

I don't know. I would just grab ones that are long enough like maybe 3/8.

I'm picking up my motor in 6 hours when I'm done work. If everything goes as planned this is happening today.

You will be soon enough. I wish I had a few more weeks, I would have rathered put the shortblock together myself but I don't have the time. You have the pleasure of doing it yourself...which I prefer
