I had mentioned it in a previous thread, but I finally did it today. All you need in a 10mm deep drive socket, weatherstripping, and something to cut the weatherstripping. Over all there is a big diffrence, spoiler doesn't rattle at all, but some of the other body panels do. Sounds much better from the inside and out. Total cost was about $10, if you already have a 10mm deep drive socket it will only cost you about $5 for the weatherstripping.

That's a pretty good idea. I was going to get the whole ass end of mine dynomatted out but now that I see this, why? I can probably do the same thing w/the liscence plate to huh? Good deal. Thanks for the tip...

Yeah. The body panels still vibrate some though. Overall I would say it was about 60% (estimate of course) reduction in vibration.

so EXACTLY what and where did you take it apart at....and what kind of weather stripping did you use...and where did you put it?

If you look up under the spoiler on the inside of the hatch you will see 4 plastic grommet like things, take those off. On the outer edges there are 2 10mm nuts, remove those, on the inside nuts you will need a 10mm deep drive socket to remove those. Other than those 4 bolts there are a couple of clips holding it on, just giv it a good yank upwards and it will come right off. I just used some generic weatherstripping and put it around the edges where the spoiler meets the roof. Just make sure you line it up good so you can't see it once you put it back on. If you want some pics I would be more than happy to go take some. Just let me know:D

could you please provide some pics KYREDP5. i got rid of the license plate rattle yesterday and i'm looking to do the spoiler and center break light today. thanks

Pics aren't really neccessary. Just look up on the top inside of your hatch. There a 4 plastic covers, take those off, and unscrew the bolt under them and your done.

gotcha. i'll try that when i get out of work here in about 5 minutes. gotta get a window retinted as it peeled because it's so damn cold here. never had that problem with legal tinting but the darker it is the more of a problem it is it seems.
