I just got my bushing replaced about a week ago... Here's the story.

So I'm backing out of my drive way last night to go get some grub. As I come to the end I have to give it a little angle so I don't scrape anything. As I'm doing so I hear a loud bang... I'm like :wtf: I get out and look around and see nothing laying around thinking I backed in to something. so I start driving and I hearing a constant rattle and loud clunks when I go over any bumb what so ever. I knew it was the sway bar. so I went back home and pulled in the garage and checked it out... The F'ING bracket that holds the bushing in place snapped in half! POS!!!!! Has this happened to anyone else?

I really wish that they would get this s*** figured out.

yup, my mp3 did this. Bracket didn't actually brake, but the screw that bolts the braket onto the body popped out, stripped. Loud bang, snap kinda noise as it popped.

Solution

If your bracket broke, then thats not a biggie. Just tell those clowns at the dealer to replace it under warranty. But in case of your bolts stripping then this is what you have to do....

This is what happened when I changed my rubber bushings to polyurethane. I stripped one bolt on the final installation and I paid for it. I heard that loud *POP and a saw the rubber bushing and bolt lying on the ground, and my bracket was bent down. I had to get a tap and die set and go the next thread size up whick i think was 1/2 inch. It took me about a good hour to rethread the hole. You have to drill a new hole with the bit thats supplied in the kit, then lube...do a half turn... relube...back it out...knock off the shavings and repeat those steps until youre all the way through. The key is PATIENCE!!!! I'm telling you right now, it's not gonna be easy, but you ave no choice. Get yourself a good pair of work gloves. If you rush it, you can break the tap off in the hole. I got my kit from Home Depot. Oh and you have to jack the car up REALLY high to drill the new hole, and make sure you have a drill with a 1\2 inch chuck!. Make sure when you put the new 1/2 screw in you put some lock tight on it, and DON'T tighten it down too much. Good Luck. PM me if yo need anymore advice or help.
