Daedalus Winter Update '06 Photo Thread *No 56k*

Paint the sides, and front section of the hood... and leave only the sunken part behind the vent unpainted. The only place for a fully unpainted CF hood is on a black car, and even I have gotten sick of the way it stands out... gonna paint most of my hood and trunk in the spring.

Bah! Don't listen to Rich -- he's a crackpot and doesn't even know CPR.

.. But considering I've never seen CF against a yellow car (I won't until I can get Kooldino to put some on his MP3), I guess I'm a pretty poor judge. All I have t'go by is how CF sits against my Titanium paint, and I love how that looks. So. Dur.

here is my buddies hood we did on his Type R ..... just food for thought ..

he wanted to it to match so he followed the lines .. but this is a little extreme for me .. it looks great in person but on here doesnt give you the real effect of it

I know they are different hoods, but here is a good comparison on two Blazin yellows with the same hood and one painted.

Im partial to the painted one

but its all up to the individual. I dont hate it either way. Cf is definately awesome to look at.

leave it unpainted or do the original paint scheme you had in mind. there is another p5 with that hood painted like that. it's either thewrench or bigwoofer(or both) that did it.

also, pranna, is it me or is your car leaning to the driver side? or is it just that cool that it has the pimp sway?

Yea, bigwoofer has his painted like that, but in my defense I have typed aim conversations with mspeed101 from a year ago when the original Hood GB was going on, stating my plans, it just took me longer to get mine than bigwoofer, so i guess credit goes to him.

I saw it on this car first, and wanted to do it to mine ever since the GB started!

Nope, its leveled...to the 1/32" its just its sitting on a little uneven pavement and the camera was too.(thumb)

I got the carbon fiber trim piece that covers the original piece. I have just been lazy and havent installed it yet.

Yea its a battle of the Banana's for us. He allways has to push the envelop and make me play catch up, and then I have to do the same right back to him. The good part is, the end result of this competition is two sweet ass cars! (thumb) (first)

hey, hope you enjoy that bar, I know I do. Also, why dod you have it at the end of the swaybar? That is it's softest setting. I have it as close to the inside as possible without hitting the cross bars, and others even have the endlinks going under the bars for an even tighter feel.

I wanted to start at the loosest setting, and then tighten it up until it felt perfect.


BAD NEWS

I had the car warming up in the driveway today, and it looks like the timing belt tensioner let loose, and the car jumped timing. So she got towed over to Transonic, and i'm still waiting to hear back on if i'm ****** or not. The "I" and the "E" are supposed to be pointing at each other at TDC correct? If so, i'm at least 90 degrees off...

But seeing as this is a PHOTO journal... i snapped a pic. This AAA guy has towed my car the last three times. He called my cell phone when he got the call and was like, "The Banana broken?" and i was like "Yep." At least he knew exactly where i lived and exactly where it had to be towed!

So Cross Your Fingers for me guys and gals!!!
