Cx9 Studed Snow Tires

I have a new 2009 CX9 and because of our perilous driveway, need to use studded snow tires. My local car expert reports that there are not tires available for studding that fit. I would appreciate input from anyone who has found a tire manufacturer that makes a snow tire that will take studs.

you should be able to get a smaller wheel diameter that will take a studded tire... I'm surprised that the 'local expert' didn't suggest that.

Cool read! I guess I need to figure out what to get, I get more Ice from the snow turning into ice than I get reg snow.

I did some research and it looks like you can put on 16" steelies with P245/70/R16 studed tires. Which I guess is the same size that are on the 2004 Chevy Trailblazers.

I guess there really is no need for TPMS on winter tires.

Will 16" wheels fit? Just looking at mine I'm guessing 18" might just clear the calipers.

Don't know. I'm just going with either 17 or 18. Look at the 17" rims on an AWD GT? thread for a picture of a 17"

At first I was thinking of getting Studs, but now after reading information on the Blizzak, I think it might have better traction.
