CX7 Ant on a Speed 6

So this guy here in charleston bought a CX7 Antenae (cant spell) for $20 and put it on the speed 6! That s*** looks WAY BETTER! Im going to go buy mine when i get off work. It basically looks like the speed6 ant minus all the spiral crap at the top... What do you guys think?

I think it's a great idea considering that's what i did. I bought the antenna the day I picked my car up at the dealer. Forums are a great place to find stuff about the car you plan on buying.

Yeah I've got the CX-7 ant on my car, I just thought it was funny when they were asking what year CX-7.

Yup, just installed mine from RPM. It was a very easy install, and the reception has not gotten any better or worse.

I've got the cx7 antenna also. Reception never changed for me. Great under $20 mod.

Thats good that you guys say the reception didnt change... The guy i spoke with said his got worse on some of the channels... He said not the main channels but some other ones so who knows what he is listening to.. Maybe the spanish channel on AM radio...

Shark fin on mine! I don't have any great pics yet, but here are a few I snapped the night I put it on. I notice slightly worse reception in the parking garage at work... where I had intermittent fuzzy signal before, now it pretty much drops out once I go underground. Otherwise maybe a bit weaker on weak stations, but it seems fine to me.

I used to have the stubby from my CX-7 but replaced it with a sharkfin, and notice a very slight difference in the reception... Now I like the classy look of my WWP car...

I was doing about 120 MPH on the track and i forgot to take out my antenna. At this speed the ANT started to spin around and hit the rear glass. I got scared for a moment. My friend told me what happened. I just cut off the spiral section on the stock antenna with a pair of side cutters. Right at the base of the rubber part of the antenna. It works great. cost nothing. Looks like the CX-7 now. It seems that the mast of the ANT is fiber glass coated with plastic.
