CX-5 stalled at high speed

When the OP accelerated (to 75 mph) to pass the car in the far left lane, did that override the MRCC (set to 72 mph) momentarily? If so, it wasn't the MRCC that triggered the braking? Or is MRCC always actively monitoring when near the set speed?

The thread was titled as stalling at high speed, but the incident started with braking while on MRCC. I am questioning his choice of words. 😁 Not sure how much braking the system applies under those circumstances. It seems that there are two problems.
Indeed that is what the title says. But he said in his comments:

Didn't have time to check instrument cluster as I was trying to avoid getting hit by other cars, and coast to the side of the road. When I finally got to the side of the road, I don't remember any warning lights being on. It was then I discovered that the car had stalled.
So that's all we will ever know.
