Can someone tell me what ice bushings are? A couple of years ago the dealer said they should keep an eye on them, but I don’t go there now.

I'm guessing he said something that you mis-heard (or mis-typed) as "ice bushings".

Here's what Microsoft's AI says:
Ice bushings are essential components for ice makers, designed to improve performance and reduce noise. Here are some key points:
  • Installation: Ice bushings are easy to install without complex tools; applying food-grade grease on the liner can help eliminate noise and extend their lifespan.
  • Material: They are typically made from food-grade acetal, ensuring safe contact with ice and water while providing excellent wear resistance.
  • Noise Reduction: By minimizing friction between moving parts, ice bushings help reduce operational noise, enhancing the overall efficiency of the ice maker.
  • Replacement: If you need to replace worn-out bushings, consider options that fit your specific ice maker model, such as the GE Opal.
For more detailed information, you can check the specific product listings or consult with an ice maker technician.
