CX-5 Grille available that would cover lower opening?

Is there a grille available that would cover the lower opening that’s exposed?

Saw some that are small two piece to be used on sides of license plate holder but I don’t use one so looking for full coverage, one piece grille to protect the entire opening.

Yes, there is. I bought one off of eBay for my wife's 2023 CX5. It actually looks pretty good. I've been looking for one for my CX70 but so far no luck.

All seem to be for applications with the front license plate in place. Seems that would not cover area where no license plate holder is used …??

Just buy two sets they are cheap and you can cut the second set to fit..I run a plate but others have just bought a second set and cut it to fit where the plate goes...

On my 23 this is opening I’d like to get a screen for. Maybe a DIY job.

If anyone has done the lower grille by buying 2 sets of covers and cutting pieces to fit middle area, could you post some info on how you went about that? Thnx

I would maybe consider something that can keep the bugs out of my intercooler. But as it stands, I don't think anything will.

I have noticed most of the bugs in my grill are in the lower 4-5 inches, so I'm thinking it might be a good idea.

Just a note for folks with cylinder deactivation. As part of the cooling system, the lower grill has "shutters" that open and closed based on cooling demands so you probably don't want to do anything that will restrict air flow.

In another thread on this, this feature was very inconsistent. We couldn't figure out why some of us have it and some of us don't. Are you saying it's only on the cars with cylinder deactivation? That doesn't make sense as those features are not related.

From what I could determine, at least from 2022-26, they all have AGS but operate differently based on the engine. The turbos have a regular ol' thermostat and the N/As have the coolant control valve.

I'm referring to the automatic shutters that open/close to change drag coefficient. Some people on this forum have them and some don't.

My 23 turbo does not have shutters
Yeah it seems like the turbos don't for sure. It could be that the intercooler is in the way.

But among the naturally aspirated cars, some people have them and some don't. We weren't able to figure it out in the other thread.

Seems like in the 2020's they build what they had parts for. As I understand it, they built engines with cylinder deactivation when they had the parts and when they did't, well, they didn't.
