CX 5 Engine Block Heater

Hello everyone! I am new to the forum but have been reading it for quite some time now. Anyway I am stumped on my CX 5. I just moved up here to Fairbanks Alaska and need to put an engine block heating on my car. Anyone know where to access the freeze plug hole for it? it is the 2.5l skyactive. Thank you! I am not quite ready to shell out the $320 that I was quoted from Mazda.

I did get that exact plug at a local Napa. Just can't figure out where to put it.

FSM turns up pretty blank with "freeze plug" and "block heater" and even parts sites are absent. Maybe some of the Canadian members have more info.

Did Mazda dealer give you a part number of the block heater?

No, I'll call tomorrow and find out.

Does anything turn up for the 2014 CX 5 in FSM? In alldata I get more I got on the 2014 model but it doesn't give me a location.

For all those listings, under installation it says "Easiest mounting location - rear left". Although ambiguous, it's a starting point for your search. Grab a flashlight, and have a root around the back side of the engine by the firewall/drivers side (at least that's how I interpret rear left).
