Custom Turbo kit

:
2003 Mazda Protege LX-T
Hey guys...this post may have been already posted or something like that. But anyways, i've decided to join the boost world and see what all the commotion is about. haha. i just got a second job and it's a 4 month construction job so i'm tryin to buy some parts asap...so far i have lined up, but not purchased, a manifold and smic w/ stock piping. to my knowledge and i may leave out something, plus i'm really tired, but i need:

t25 turbo w/ internal wastegate or turbo w/ external wastegate
oil feed and return line
bov
downpipe
intake
fpr
hardware:nuts, bolts, clamps, couplers

for just slappin a temporary kit together is this all that is needed? as in temporary i mean for the kit to run without any problems are run 6-7psi. if anyone can also send me sites as to where i can look into gettin these products i'd appreciate it...thanks alot guys. i'm new to the boost section so please be gentle! lol

you need the FM O2 modifier, or MPI Tunner or some sort or management. This car tends to run lean and ping/knock before 4500rpms, if you build boost before 4500 without that, you will have problems.

What about the exhaust turbo manifold?
If not upgrading the fuel pump, max boost pressure is limited to 6.5-7psi to be on the edge of safe side.

i have a fuel pressure regulator for sale if you are interested. it is an accufab racing universal efi rising rate regulator. This would work well with a FM o2 clamp from flying miata.

the regulator goes for 137.00 new. Mine is brand new never installed, and all i would want is say 115 shipped for it.

here is a link to it, it is the third one down, the all blue one:

you'll need a MSP radiator, brackets and AC condensor if you want to run the MSP sidemount

i understand why i'd need all that...i'm sure my car would do fine w/ out those mods. i mean it's not like u see mam kits or etc coming with those kinds of upgrades. now maybe i'll upgrade the radiator later on in the future to keep the engine more cooler! but that'll be about the extent!

even for a temp kit you better have some gauges lined up...im drunk but i looked at your post and didnt see anything about gauges.

even at 6-7 psi you should have a w/b

i'm going to look into gettin a w/b 02, a/f gauge, boost gauge...i already have an oil, volt, and water simply cause my parents bought me them three for my birthday for my eclipse cause it didn't have gauges that were functional, plus my water temp needle in the protege is missing! so it works out. haha. but i'd really like to turbo my car now that i've went to the drag stip last night and ran a couple times and was pretty upset! i just gotta get money together! ASAP! cause i'm not a patient guy, but no one on here is when it comes to their cars i'm sure! lol

drinking is good! lol

u took the words right out of my mouth! so as of right now i'm gonna buy parts when i can. so far my buddy is selling some parts from a mam kit he bought from beau. he's got a manifold, intake, heat shield and greddy emanage which i'm not sure if i want it or not yet. but he told me i should use it.
will the afc work temporarily until i decide to run 10 psi and then upgrade to more of an ems? i've heard it wouldn't work for our cars, but i have talked to two guys who said they have it working on their n/t protege and the other has a msp.
also i am tryin to decide on what type of turbo to go with. i dont want alot of power considering this will be my first turbo. if i could even get ahold of something along the lines of the stock msp turbo i'd be satisfied! i've been hittin up ebay and lookin at turbos on there.
also will the msp downpipe fit on my car. i had custom exhaust installed when i got my obx header installed. it's 2.5" w/ hi flow. i'm thinking it would!

Will the kit come with hardwire, what about some type of fuel/ems upgrade? What type of turbo does the kit come with? sounds like a really good deal, but as of right now i don't have 1320 to spend! that's why i'm just tryin to piece together a kit the first time, so that i can get all the parts i want without having to waste money!

right now i am tryin to decide what type of turbo, downpipe, wastegate, and fmic that i want...if anyone has any opinions on this matter i'd appreciate it!

so far i've decided on begi fpr, walbro fuel pump (what size lph should i get? is the 255 to much?,) greddy type s bov/turbo xs rfl bov, flying miata voltage clamp, wrx 440 fuel injectors. i will prolly wait on the injectors though....i may start buyin parts for the turbo kit as of next friday. my only goal with this kit as of now is to have it installed before summer is over!

Well, this is the starter kit. We also offer the Haltech EMS, Either the F10X for fuel only or the E6X for fuel and timing control.

The turbo is an IHI VF22 ball bearing turbo, which is very well know in the Subaru WRXs. It is a very compact unit and its performance is unbeatible.

We also have a complete turbo kit wilth everything ready to boost to 220 WHP. USD$3,800.00

sounds like a great kit! but i'd rather just put together my own kit....plus i'm not a patient person. i couldn't save that much up without spending it. so i'm just gonna buy parts when i can

blue protege...I can help you get cheap parts. We are pulling out a custom turbo kit from my friend's protege. All parts are out and going to the machine shop for cleaning.

Parts included:

Custom Turbo manifold.
Garret T3 .48/.42 w/ welded downpipe to fit in stock exhaust pipe
HKS BOV
Intercooler Piping
RX7 Turbo2 Top Mount Intercooler modified for Front Mount Intercooler
BEGI Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator
FM O2 modifier
MSD Inline fuel pump

This setup is good for up to 10psi on good 93 octane fuel. Dont try to push more than that, the protege runs 39 deg advanced, thats too much for turbo on stock internals.

$900 SHIPPED to you

Parts you will need not included so far

Hose couplers
Turbo Oil Drain
Turbo Oil feed

Let me know if you are interested.
