Custom Turbo Inlet-Fits Like Stock!

I actually had a dream last night that I put this on my car, honestly. I think I might need to get out more :(

one problem though saying it will work with any intake is FALSE. not all CAI's mate up to this inlet pipe the same way. just like the ATP pipe gives you 3 different options...stock intake, MS intake, and other intake, you would need to do the same thing. some cai's have the breather port on them and some dont. some intakes use the stock bent rubber tube thing...some dont. it will not fit every intake. i actually made my own out of stainless a few weeks ago. TRZ is going to make it for me out of aluminum soon. we are debating on whether or not to go through the hassle of making it work with every intake or just the MS.

Do any aftermarket intakes require a new inlet tube? I know the CS FMIC uses a different inlet tube altogether, but that setup can't use this at all anyways.

Make it work just like the stock inlet not counting the accordian and let everyone else worry about it from that point on.

speaking of TRZ where is that TMIC? :-D

If you make it a direct replacement for the plastic inlet like mine? Did you keep the inlet in the same spot as stock? (mazda speed forum dot org for pics) ANY intake that bolts up to the stock piece will work on my design. I am assuming you have a mass produced intake that bolts up to this. My 2 3/8" Cobb Silicon elbow just stretched onto the 2 1/2" pipe so I am sure that any elbow, accordian hose, or what have you currently will work.

I had a dream last night that I fprgot to put something back on when I put the stock inlet back in. I checked this morning and I forgot to put the wastegate return line back on the inlet!

first come the new side mounts...then back to the TMIC. it is a strategic move on their part. they want to be the first to the market with the side mounts. there are plenty of IC options out there so that will get finished up next.
i suppose this will "work" with any intake but not intirely. if you send it as shown it will work perfect with a MS cai. some of the other intakes however that do not replace that accordian piece it wont attach directly to the cai.
but hey i guess thats what they get for buying a half assed intake !

all in all it looks great. i would buy one if i wasnt getting mine made for $40 total ! for those of you who want to make your own ETS has the best prices i have found for the 2"-2.5" transition coupler.

The accordian piece will fit on this inlet design. I'm not sure I am understanding you. This will work with the stock airbox too. Maybe these picture will help.

Here's an initial install pic. I had to remove the mounting flange to locate the optimum spot to weld it down. FITS AWESOME!!!! I'm going for a ride now, but the ECU is reset, so I will need to run it about an hour, recycling the ignition every 5 min.

Why do you need to cycle the ignition every 5 mins...? Can't you just drive the car conservatively for 20-30 mins and then let it rip? (huh)

Looks nice btw; I want one... (lol2)

I was told by a Mazdaspeed mechanic trainer that the ECU requires 8-12 ignition cycles with a min of 5 min driving each to fully adjust for changes. Basically, it will adjust up to 10% each cycle.

The drive was awesome! I drove for about 2 hours. The car definitely feels stronger and the whoosh of the turbo sucking air is much more pronounced. Power is very smooth and comes on sooner. Dynos this weekend!

wait one sec there is no battary installed. what dose it look like with battary installed how is fittment and clerences?

Here are top-down pictures of both sides of the installed inlet tube.
