Custom FMIC

I was thinking about getting a custom FMIC setup, and Speedfetish a local performance shop(houston/woodlands) has given me an intial estimate of $500.00, for labor, custom piping, and the core. If i provided the core the estimate dropped to $250.00. What to do?

Sounds like the difference between getting a quality aftermarket exhaust from a reputable company versus having the local muffler shop bend you up some pipe and a glass pack.

I bet the pipe is crush bent, i bet the welds are subpar, and i bet the core is crap.

A good shop will do the work right, and it will cost double or triple what these guys want.

Not bad. I'd check on their work also.

I also saw the following sagely advice somewhere: if a shop has been around for a number of years, then that is a good indication that they are reputable and do good work.

Of course that's just a rule of thumb.

the one thats being made for my car as a new product were looking or he is hoping to sell it for around 400-475 for a bolt on kit.

i ordered my intercooler from cxracing earlier today, overall size is 28"x7"x2.5", core size 22"x7"x2.5", assuming the quote on labor and piping is correct, I'm going to have a FMIC setup for less than $350, assuming everything functions correctly i saved myself enough money to purchase a fuel pump

subbin'
keep us informed on this. im very interested. I just Emailed the owner to get a few answers. they seem like quality imo.

I'm going to attempt to do most of the work myself, i have my intercooler 28x7x2.5, my blow off valve (turbo xs-hybrid valve-type H)should be here shortly within 3-5 days. I'm ordering my intercooler piping(aluminum beaded, 2.5") along with silicon couplers, reducers, clamps, etc.I've been looking over pictures and the engine bay and i'm formulating a gameplan on how i'm going to do the install. I will definetly be ordering extra piping and silicon. After, I get the initial fitting I will take the piping to my old job to be welded.

well the owner of that site never got back to me after a few emails so he can blow me. good luck with your custom job. take pics. i cant wait to see it.
