im thinking about getting the CS downpipe....but the question is ....does it really matter if i get 2.5" or 3"....will it be noticeable??? ....and what difference does it makes if a i use a universal muffler with a 2.5" inlet??? i need some advice please

2.5" or 3" depends on what kindf of power you want to make in the future and if noise is a concern. the universal ebay mufflers tend to sound pretty bad IMO, but a universal muffler from borla, vibrant etc are all good options.

but the size of the downpipe really matters.....im thinking of an apexi muffler....maybe the n1 but whicho one to get 2.5" or 3" inlet......

ok i know that apexi n1 has two versions...the NA and the Turbo one.....i guess....2.5 inlet and 3 inlet......so if im using a 2.5"pipe.....does it matter if i use the 2.5 one.....or its better if i get the 3" one

if you're gonna be pushing the limits and getting serious power out of it... go for 3", but it's still not totally necessary. 2.5 is adequate...and if you're gonna have a 2.5" muffler inlet then 3" piping would be a waste.

is there that big of a noise difference between 2.5 and 3? i Mean is it honestly louder by a noticeable degree?

^^^^ depending on the muffler you choose it is noticeable the noise difference since turbo - exh system tend to use small can muffler which = louder but then again depending on other factor like in my case i have vibrant and solid f + r mm it comes w/ noise in cabin and vibration = not pleasant dd condition.
My friends never wanna come in my car , they complain about the noise lol

2.5" would be best so you can have a taste of power you can make but over 300 hp its recom. 3" .

I have a full custom 3" Turbo back exhaust with a real Apexi N1 muffler and i get tons of comments about how good it sounds, just another way you can go, just throwing that out there.

The options for the s-portion of the downpipe are very limited .. So you can always do what I did. I have the 2.5" Corksport s-pipe and 3" everything else. But if you don't have any big plans for your MSP, 2.5" will be sufficient for the entire system.

But noise levels will depend on the muffler you choose, how many cats you use (if any) and how many resonators you use (if any).

I have a single hi-flow cat and two resonators with an HKS muffler, and it's still loud. Not overbearingly or obnoxiously so -- but when I get on it, the world knows!

I have a full 3inch TBE with highflow cat but not res. you have 2 and its
still loud dam I am about to install one from vibrant but if yours is loud
with 2 I guess its not worth it...How is it on the highway noise wise?

Well .. once you get on the highway, it's not too bad. I mean, it doesn't bother me -- if it did, I would've changed my muffler -- but you can't have a normal conversation with someone else in the car without raising your voice a little.

But you can always have some resonators cut into the Vibrant if you want, at an exhaust shop.

using the same muffler, 2.5" vs. 3" won't change the sound to a noticeable amount.

Straight-thru mufflers are obviously gonna be louder than other types.

cats take away a lot of sound, but can make it worse in-cabin sometimes...in my opinion resonators don't do much except take away a little of the raspiness up top.

for example, i used to have a 3" vibrant (with high-flow cat) and now i have a 3" catless Apexi. Outside the car, the apexi is muuuuch louder but inside the car is honestly quieter or about the same because all the sound waves are exiting out the back of the car rather than getting tied up in the cat and adding to in-cabin vibrations.

is there any way to install the S pipe with out removing the turbo? if not talk about a PITA.(smash)

I didn't install my exhaust -- it was built as it was being put onto the car, since it's custom -- so I can't say for sure. That was the only time I've had the stock s-pipe taken off the car .. was to take it off for good. :)

ok...I am going to go with the Ultra Quiet Resonator, 3" inlet/oulet hopefully
it will reduce some noise - Rush do you have bottle stlye res.?

ok i think thats a great idea.....i have plans for the car but not yet.....for now i just want to upgrade the intercooler, exhaust system, flywheel, clutch...i think thats it for now.....so i will get the CS DP 3in. pipe and the apexiN1.....what you think???

Sounds like a plan. The exhaust and the intercooler are definitely two of the weakest stock components on the MSP.

my plan for my msp turbo powered p5 is cs downpipe, 3 piping with 2 vibrant resonators and 1 highflow cat, 1 vibrant muffler mmmm. That should be pure sex....i hope
