Custom Aux Input Jacks

I just ordered the P.I.E. kit for aux inputs, and I have all the cables needed now to have 3 1/8" plugs be inputs for the stock radio. I have one cable going to my belkin ipod charger with line out, and I'm now deciding where to put the other two 1/8" input jacks. I'm thinking of drilling a hole in the ashtray and wiring up a 1/8" jack (so the female plug sticks out enough to plug in my laptop for gps voice navigation when I put the laptop in the car, and also if someone in the car has something else we want to connect), and I'm not sure if I need a 3rd input, but I may install one on the back of the armrest so the rear passengers can hook devices up to the input also. Any suggestions on better places to mount the 1/8" female plugs before I start mounting? I was inspired by a friend's Honda Element to put a 1/8" input jack in for convenience (Honda Elements have a 1/8" aux input jack around the glovebox area)!

Thanks!

Get an adapter jack, and Run some rca's to the back and slap a turntable in there!!! *L* I dunno.

The ash tray sounds like a decent place...just looking at the car, you could also open up a hole in the plastic piece where the cassette module goes in the stock headunit (if you still have it). I prolly wouldn't go with that since it wouldn't really look stealthy....I'm a big fan of stock-looking stereo stuff

Actually, if you wanna give it a shot, you could mount the jack on one of the metal pillars BEHIND the headunit, and then run the RCA wires to wherever you want...completely invisible, and you can just plug in your IPOD or pda or laptop etc whenever you want

man, that would be crazy....definitely turn a few heads when you say "yea, i've got a in-dash changer, a modular mini-disc unit, I wired an XM radio into it, AND I CAN PLAY VINYL!!!" Just stick the turntable in the back and train a monkey to be a DJ or something...dang
