Just thought I would share that I spent $215.00 USD for fabrication and installation of a 2.25" custom cat-back exhaust system.

The sound is a nice, deep tone, and at 70MPh is about as loud as my RS*R I had on my '97 Civic (nice, not a loud droning sound).

You can see pics at:

Enjoy!

sweet price on that dude, what make of muffler is that? and congrats on not going with the fart cannon sound :D btw whats that little red switch for in the change pocket?

Thanks for the compliments...

The muffler is a generic $65.00 shipped muffler. The inside of it where the metal is with all the holes is actually kind of spiraled to help expell the exhaust gasses.

The red switch is my NOS activation. (actually it turns my sub on/off so when the wife drives the car, she doesn't get the boom)

sub switch eh...coolness...is it an ebay muffler cuz 65 bucks and its not a fart cannon ...damn...i wanna get one.

Yes, $45.00 Ebay muffler and $20 shipping.

You must understand the principal of what makes the "farting sound". It rarely is the muffler. It's the size of piping and type of engine that is being used. SOHC engines usually produce the farting sound as there is a single cam. DOHC engines always give a good flow as a dedicated cam for intake as well as one for exhaust provides a continuous flow that is not raspy.

I was going to do the Apex N-1 style, but after doing measurements of the pipe connecting to the muffler and going up and over the rear axle and rear cross-support, I had to get a smaller unit that could be angled up and provide only one bend than multiple (bad flow characteristics) and still look good. The MAZDASPEED muffler and tip "does not asthetically" flow together as it looks piece mield and on top of that, there are multiple bends in the pipe for it to connect to the stock piping from the cat to the axle. I designed mine so I could connect it to the stock piping from the cat to the axle, and then I immediately made a new pipe from the cat to the axle that resembles stock, bigger piping and no resonator. It makes for a clean install, as well as mix/match of flavors.

oh ok i see....but by fart canon i meant those mufflers that make it sound like your smuggling a motorcycle under your hood, thats what i hate.
