Current Engine bay pics everyone

Miata engine (BP) was used in a bunch of different front drivers - early 626, and protege, 323 and 323 GTX if you want AWD, some Kias used the same basic engine architecture as well. Its a great little motor, but definitely not worth the headache of doing a swap.

I'll have to get my KL swap done and cleaned up so I can officially post in this thread :)

lol wut? never in the 626. it is definitely worth the effort. corksport put on in their bj when they wanted a drag car. way easier and cheaper than building an fsde.

You got me - no 626. Heres the list:

1989-1994 Mazda Familia GT (European & Australian Market)
1989-1994 Ford Laser TX3 (Australian Market)
1990-1994 Mazda Protege LX (with VICS)
1995-1998 Mazda Protege ES (Australian Market BA)
1990-1991 and 1993 Mazda Protege GT (Canadian Market)
1990-1993 Mazda 323 (European Market)
1991-1996 Ford Escort GT and LX-E
1991-1996 Mercury Tracer LTS
1995-1997 Kia Sephia LS, GS
1994-1998 Mazda Familia (Japanese Market)
1994-1997 Mazda MX-5/Miata (did not have VICS until 1999)
There is also a non-performance version that is most easily recognized by its black stamped-steel oil pan. It also features a cast crankshaft, no oil squirters, a plastic oil pickup tube and less aggressive camshafts. It is found in the 1995-1998 Mazda Protege ES.

I still wouldn't go through the headache of a swap though. I'm in the midst of swapping a KL into msp and its a pain - I hope its worth it. A built FS can make the same power as a built BP so there just isn't a reason to go through the headache.

Sorry for thread Jacking a little but i need some info here..

Once again guys i need some help here, Well my issue is i need new shims for the lifters for my JDM cams. any idea where i can get them ?

I have all of the measurements i need i just dont know from where to get them

wooooo. never knew u had one. i had a 1st gen with the b8 sohc. it was an automatic lol. i didnt have money to do anything with it at the time since i was a college student

the 3rd gens arent terrible. everything is fine, especially the handling. its just..... slow

my engines disagree :p. it was a fun ride though. met a lot of cool people. and then i bought a miata. i liked my p5. she was good for what i needed

the general rule is to have it 4-6 inches away from ur MAF. its just how it was pieced together with the available/left over piping we had. it works fine with no issues :)

edit: i need to shorten my U pipe lol.
