That's the kind of header set up I've been looking for lol hook me up bro!!!
Again guys, this was a completely custom one-off job. You'd have to get something similar done at an exhaust shop. From what I understand, the original owner designed it for NA power as he was into racing and whatnot...
not convinced that's the best way to go as you want velocity and some turbulence...
^LOL...having no VTCS doesn't hurt mind you, but ya, I don't see a need to go nuts on the mani, I'm not gunning for the title, just a REALLY nice power bump. Ironically, my only bottleneck left in the intake-exhaust tip flow is the IM now...but I don't want to bother with the 626 to kill my low end torque.
ThanksYou're net gain in low end power will still be somewhat magnificiant.
higher compression+long headers+cams+cam gears (dialed in perfectly on the dyno) + engine management will make your bottom end better than stock, and midrange absolutely spastic. twiggy did the 626 mani on his ride, no appreciable decrease in response....worked a treat.
Of course, custom tuned length tunnel ram would be betterhehe
just do it later if you don't hit the goal...personally, if you dont crack 150 hp i'll be a little shocked.
Thanks
I'm curious to see what the MPI will do in terms of tuning. I'm seriously considering selling my ECU and MPI for roughly a total of 500-600USD to finance something else, whether it's an AEM FIC, Emanage, or of course what you'll recommend; a standalone Microtech...not sure I want to spend THAT kind of coin, and it might just be TOO much of a problem to get everything dialed in, especially if I decide to run in the winter, but ya...
The biggest thing about a piggyback is that I can easily tune it for cruising (closed loop), but tuning it for WOT is not really doable (in open loop) right? Do I have that right?
