Cruise control?

As far as I know the MP3 and MSP versions don't have cruise control because of the strut tower brace. Correct? Or are there some that have cruise? I'm looking at buying an MP3 and have seen several listed as having cruise.

None of therm came with cruise/control(both MSP and MP3) though there are aftermarket cruise control kits that you can have installed :)

Couldnt you probably just swap in one from a P5 or regular Pro also? After driving my moms 6, it made me realize it really is a nice feature!

you can, but to make it 100% "plug and play", you need to swap the dash harness and the engine harness from the P5/sedan

this only works on the MP3 but not the MSP because the MSP has the glass antenna

You can but the mounting bracket would need modification. MP3/MSP doesn't have cruise because of the strut tower brace. The passenger side strut mount is where the cruise hooks up. I have both on my car right now though. I bought a strut tower brace and modified/cut some of the bracket for the cruise so that the brace would fit flush on the tower. I don't like cruise control though. Here in CO there are so many hills/mountains, that we have hardly any flat roads. So with cruise on, your constantly changing speeds.

I didn't say you can't... but if you care about the s*** looking neat like I do, then I'd swap the harnesses... it's a PITA either way

If your looking for the unit I have mine. I took it out because I have no use for it. Don't really want anything for it.

if you run wires yourself, you not only need to run wires to the cruise control actuator, and the module, but you have to run wires to the gauge cluster, clutch switch, steering column, and ECU

there maybe more, all that info is in the wiring diagrams... it's a big mess, so like i said, I'd swap the harnesses... this is also good for turbo MP3s because if you use the normal protege ECU, you can hook up a solenoid to the VTCS connector to turn off the engine light

The strut tower brace hypothesis dosent make any sense.

p5s have strut tower braces + cruise control.

TheMAN,
Just wondering if you know if there's a connector for the VTCS solenoid on the MP3 wiring harness ? I'm running an MSP engine and ecu on my MP3 and I wants to get rid of the CEL. I have the solenoid but just not sure if the connector is there or I have to wire it in myself. Thanks !

no there isn't, but I've added the wires to a stock MP3 ECU connector before along with the solenoid... it's doable and can be done with some electronics experience
