HI Guys!!!

Has This Ever Happened To One Of You???

My Cruise control Just stop Working for no apparent reason, Didn't do any modification and No Check Engine lights are on and all the fuses are good( Inside and under hood). I've checked the Cruise Control Module and it Tested Ok...

So Know I Don't know what else to do???

Thx In Advance!!!

Ian

There is a button on the side of it. Odds are you hit it in and it is off.

I know I've done the same thing...

lol, that's good to know too but I've had issues with it but just havn't taken it in for checking. Basically, there are times where I'll be heading home or heading back up and I'll want to set cruise control, i'll set it and cruise will show up but it won't set and just keeps going down until I hit the acceleration cruise button about 20-40 times and it finally goes to the speed. I'm curious to know if the cruise control just resets itself to 35 or 45 on it's own...

It's on The ON position And I Don't Go Over 100MPH...
As infrequently as I use mine, it does this just about every time. Just try to set it, turn it off, turn it on, set it again. It may take 2-3 times of doing this before it'll finally take over but then it'll work just fine........until another 9 months goes by before I try to use it again & I have to do the same thing to get it going, but it always works after jacking with it. I just don't use it enough to care really.

you could have vacuum line deterioration, or you could have your brake light bulbs out. the cruise control system monitors the voltage in your brake system wiring, and if you have bulbs out, the cruise won't work.

That's the first thing I thought but wasn't the case. I think it's just a faunky module TSB thing IIRC.

IMO, if it was a vacum line then it wouldn't work at all.

not nesesarily. it could have a crack somewhere that could cause it to work under certain situations and not under others. would be an easy check. vacuum hose is what, $1?

what did you do to "test" the module?
these modules are known to go bad on some of these cars, mine went dead on me and had to be replaced

OK, every situation I can think of that makes any sense to be using cruise control involves highway speeds/rpms/vacum pressures & not much traffic. Which situations would it work in vs. ones it wouldn't? Mine works all the time in all situations after turning it off & on 2-3 times. After that it works flawlessly every time without fail until it goes 4-6 months before trying to use it again. Not trying to be hardass, just trying to figure out where we are going with this. I'm far from being above learning something new so please enlighten me. ***edit*** Oh, wait, you said it monitors brake light bulb voltage? Really? It's that intricate? It doesn't just care if I hit the pedal & actuate something from that switch, it reallys care about the bulb health? I need a mod to bypass that if that's the case, LOL.

I Tested It with A Multimeter, It All Explained in The Original Shop Manual!!!

Hmm...I know I have a brake light out and my cruise has worked fine for the last few days. Perhaps mine's possessed.
