I am also on my third windshield. The last one cracked from a teeny tiny chip.

I guess the new one is better, some bird s*** hit it and put 3 chips in it. No crack though.
how is it better if bird s*** chipped it? what kind of birds are we talking here?
yeh this is so annoyin...im gonna check with the dealer...if not ill talk with insurance and if my rate is affected...looks like ill have to pay.....damn my old 240sx had made chips and i nuttin ever happened.....well looks lik ei got my first hassle with this car.....thanks again guys.

My windshield cracked for no damn reason!
but it's covered under warranty, nevertheless it's a pain in the ass :mad:

lots of people have encountered the horribly weak Mazda glass. When I replaced my windshield I got aftermarket non dealer glass. It holds a lot better. My Wife's mp3 has a chip in it for almost one and a half years now and hasn't cracked. My car had one chip in it, and the crack spread 6" within an hour.
Same thing here also. I was driving up to Big Bear. I drove way behind the car I was folowing cause I know about the gravel. I got to the top of the mountain and saw nothing. The next morning I walked out and saw a good about 14" crack. Kinda sux. There goes my exhaust I wanted to buy....
yeh well i inspected my whole windshield and found about 10 small chips like the one along the crack if my dealer tries to say it was from rocks im gonna show them everyone cus how the hell does all them not cause a crack but this one does?!?! thats pure bs ...im still gettin my turbo back but **** if i gotta wait for the short shifter and springs......
yeh although the crack has a less then one mm wide chip in it...i measured with a ruler 
so i think ill be bitchin with the dealer on this one...but i found like 10 other chips of the same size with no cracks so i think ill get covered......thanks for the info thou

That's good to know since I've already been nailed once on the A pillar & hit again by a smaller rock on the windshield. FL highways are scary...we had that one person get a metal rod through the windshield a few years back here in Ft. Lauderdale.

i owned my 03.5 MSP for TWO DAYS before i drove by a dump truck and a fricken rock shattered my windshield!
o well....insurance covered it and plus the cops got the guy to pay for it too, caz my friend happened to look back and get the MOFO's plates

the MSP is cursed. i'm on my second winshield as well. my first was broken by someone with a brick around 2 in the morning. i was like wtf. it cost me about 100-150 to replace it. cant really remember. now on my second winshield. i was driving home from work when a stupid rock hit my winshield and cracked it. at first it was around 2 inches long and now its all across my winshield. i'm going to ride on this winshield until it falls out. **** that. i'm tired of this car.

My sisters MSP glass cracked too. She got up one morning and there was a crack that went at least 2 feet. There was no chips or anything.

i have a big chip on my pasenger side windshield, and no crack as of yet
Mine cracked halfway across and then came back... Just picked it up from mazda today. They said it was Mazda Glass but it doesent look like the same stuff that came with my MSP...There is different etching and stuff. Im kinda pissed because they wouldent put my VIN ID etching on the new glass.
i just got a crack in my winshield last night. there was a minor spec i mean you cant even see it that hit the top part of my passenger side glass and it spread about a foot now. i took it to the dealership and of course they are denying any warranty work. so i have to shell out 100 dollars for my deductible to get a new winshield. i am very pist off right now. crappy ass glass!! :mad:
