Cracked passenger side engine mount

So, while I was attempting to fix my dash rattle I lost a little cap that goes over a screw. While looking fo the cap I discovered a huge crack in the aluminum mount. Thats real nice. I knew something was not right with this car but didnt know what it was. I just installed a test pipe too and it didnt fit worth a crap. (too short, no gasket, no bolts...ptp) It better not leak. I hate the dealerships and thats where I am going monday it looks like, unless this test pipe leaks and I have to take it off. I dont drive the car hard that often. Mostly 2nd gear roll ons if anything. I think it was broke when I bought it. Ok done venting now.
This might exlpain the slight torque steer I get on the highway. It would change direction just slightly when taking a corner at 70mph depending on if I gave it or gas or let off. Hmmm. My first japanese car and this is the luck I have. (headshake

Man, all the mounts in this car suck. SU and the other vendors need to speed up the making of the upgraded motor/tranny mounts. ALL of them.

I agree on that one. If I didnt lose that stupid little black cap, I would have kept on driving it till the next weakest thing broke. Glad I found it.

Dealer: OMG dude ur test pipe brokez ur mount, too much power, it ripped the engine from the mounts, warranty denied!

ok that was a joke... i hope :) good luck

Ha, except for the fact that I have not driven the car with the test pipe yet. I'm hoping for an extra 75hp with that pipe! lol

xmysacredoathx: You circled the crack. My camera would not focus on it for whatever reason.

I just went and looked at mine. Looks good.... wtf. How the hell did yours break? It looks like it would need a damn sledgehammer to crack that mount.

Unbelieveable.

did you goto the dealer yet?
did you ever do a car fax on your car if you bought it uses? was it used when you bought it?

I dont really know. I only have 6800 miles on it. I just remember the day I bought the car, I let my girlfriend drive it. We hit a crack in the pavement during 2nd gear at 3/4 throttle and it sounded like something broke. She about started crying. It has made that same loud noise under the same situation ever since. I dont get on it unless I know the road is smooth anymore.

How big was this crack? That might be the culprit right there. I'm going to check mine tomorrow. Anyway I hope they take care of you without a hassle.

Really its not a crack. It appears to be a pretty clean break. I cant even tell its broke when I drive it. Thats just strange. I cant believe it would break that easily.

Sorry. It was just a transition bump after an intersection. Nothing crazy. Probably 2-3 inches tall, no more than that for sure.
