cpe reflash

what do you guys think about the cp-e reflash with the fuel cut eliminator and the full throttle thing? i need something

CPE Flash $465 gives you throttle control and eliminates fuel cut.... maybe 20-30hp gained....

Standback w/pnp is $850 - Tune yourself to every little mod and condition, but will need experience and still don't have full throttle control... lots of HP gained (still should get CPE flash though)

Cobb AP - $695 available maps, throttle control, no fuel cuts.... tons of HP gained

Honestly... I think Cobb is the winner... I have the SB cause that's all that was available to me at the time. But I love the fact that I can adjust to every little thing...

Cobb AP gives you full throtlle control?

Yes.... Throttle stays wide open with Cobb... only downside to Cobb really, is it would be tough to really maximize your mods. With a standback, you can fine tune timing at certain rpms, boost at certain rpms and AFR's at certain rpms.... very specific. With Cobb, you need to choose a map that best suits you car... but that way, if you don't have exactly what the map requires, you'll either have KR issues, or won't have the absolute most of your vehicle... but the Cobb is still a really good option... Going standback will cost a lot:

Standback/pnp $850
Flash $465

the right questions haven't been asked or answered here. what kind of mods does the guy have? what does he plan on doing down the road? why does he feel that he "needs" something like the reflash or AP? the two systems are very different in how they tune the car and where you can go with either.

i beg to differ my friend. im currently attempting to run the stage 2 map and hit a fuel cut wall. lol. im waiting to buy some internals so i can run the proper map for my car. hopefuly soon because the more i run the stock map the more im worried about problems down the road that i don notice yet. and if you say just dont beat on it....well....its hard. lol.

You must be fully bolted....again, I don't have actual experience with the Cobb, so I guess I can't really say.... but fuel cuts with Cobb AP.... that sucks!!

I can surely speak for the SB though... No fuel cuts, but it's just too damn expensive right now to have tuning plus full throttle....

wel its either fuel cut and happy motor....or no fuel cut and boom! lol. it doesnt get rid of safety defaults that stop your motor from blowing. which imo is very very good. but yea im pretty much all done with bolt ons except the exhaust mani.

downpipe
test pipe
boost controller
intercooler piping
injen intake
turbo inlet
blow off valve
high pressure fuel pump internals

and still have wicked fuel cut and shifting at 5,700 is annoying when im spinning

so i wanna fix the fuel cut mainly but also tune and full throttle would be nice too

I'd say so... I hated fuel cuts. I had all these mods and couldn't use em'... It was so frustrating... Now no more!!

Get the flash. AP is not all its cracked up to be. I have heard some claims about big power gains but all the dynos i see show very little. Not $700 worth of gain. Especially for a generic off the shelf map. My route.... Both cpe flashes and a MBC. Piss on tuning. If you have adaquate fuel the stock does a great job. I have a boost a pump to get the fuel out of the tank and an original mrlilguy cdfp to feed the motor. I van run 20psi and still see afr's in the 10-11's. I have dynoed 300whp and done a 12.8 1/4 mile. Trust me tuning is not a must have.

For the money, get an AP. Spending cash on the flash only to me is a total waste of time considering the cost of said flash and the downtime involved of your MS3 to send your ECU to them. There is even some debate on the Flash as people who have got it get ANOTHER cut. True will find this out soon enough I'm sure and will be able to give honest feedback once he actually runs his car with the flash. I hope he does not have cut anymore but I would not hold my breath. GL True.

Also, one flash is included in the price. The 2nd flash is another $25. Why bother.
