Cp-e Nano - production pics

Sorry if I missed this but, what is the pre filter that SU has at check out when you order the nano?

Also besides driving into the ocean or a lake is there anyway an SRI can get hydrolock? It rains almost everyday where I live in the spring and the water draining is bad, so a lot of water standing on the road. Just wondering if I was careful, I would be ok with the SRI?
Thanks

For an SRI the pre-filter will just keep the regular filter cleaner longer. As far as hydrolock, it isn't even a problem with a CAI except in fairly rare case. With an SRI it should be 99.998% or better that you won't get it. I'm allowing one out of a 10,000 to actually submerge the car with the engine running and another one out of 10,000 to get some sort of nearly unimaginable freak drenching incident that doesn't involve actual submersion.

But if you're at all worried, get the pre-filter since it will provide some benefit either way. In fact, now that I think about it, for an oiled-filter it might be a good idea.

Desperado, I was just looking at your mod list, could you tell a significant difference after you installed the SU midpipe?

Just got off the phone with Chris from SU. He said they shipped yesterday to SU so they should have them by Friday. I had placed my order on Oct 18 and asked if I should be getting one and he said they will recieve enough to fill all the orders they have and them some.

Yippy, yahoo, badda bing, bitches!!!!(breakn)

Oh and to all you haters of my cheap Rally flaps-(fuoops)

That's great news, thanks man. I was getting a little worried this would become a COBB Redux.

PS: kinda pissed about the price, should have ordered sooner.

Yeah, big difference . . . in sound! Nah, not just sound, but that alone almost makes it worth it. Butt-dyno says that the claimed 10hp is probably about right. Since I'm been running the stock airbox since I sold my CAI, I'm looking forward to opening up the intake again. I think the combo could end up being a valid case of ricer math where the total gain is actually equal to the sum of its parts. Sometime or other I'll get a dyno done to get a better idea.

I picked mine up today from Cp-e. I'm working on posting a full review with lots of pics and in-car sound clip :)

Sweet! Just finished placing my order from SU -- $199.50 shipped. I did notice that for the time being SU is selling them cheaper then CP-E direct.

BTW, What does PreFilter do?

It "prefilters" the air entering the normal filter. Prefilters are more often used in off-road applications such as ATVs and side-by-sides. It keeps larger chunks of dirt, bugs, leaves etc from entering the filter and is said to help keep water out as well. They are made of a fine mesh material that surronds the normal filter. I'm not convinced they are necessary for a road car but I have used one on my Polaris RZR.

I read that if you buy the nano from the vendor you can only get the oil filter but if you buy from CPE you have the option of dry flow or oiled?

Anyone else hear this or was this the case for the people who have already gotten it?

Also which one is better, oil or dry?

Thanks

That is true... Some like oiled filters some like dry flow. Dry Flow is easier to take care of as you dont have to oil it after cleaning. The Dry Flow needs cleaning more often though. Up to you...

i have the injen cai but ordered this one to see which one i'll like better. i really like the design, just hope the come out with a cold air box...
