costs for strut replacement (rear)?

hey all,

I am getting a very weird clunking noise coming from the rear passenger. I can isolate it by pushing down on that corner. It sounds like taking a thin metal and wobbling it back and forth. The car doesn't seem to bounce alot when pushing down on that corner so I m not sure if the strut is bad. would a bad spring make that noise? Again, the car isn't sagging or anything but it is feeling a bit funky in the handling department.

The sound happens ALOT and will happen on the slightest of bumps.

Any ideas? If it is a strut, can you ballpark a replacement cost?

One thing I didn't mention is that it does feel EASIER to push that corner down...maybe I just am not a good judge of the dampening, or lack there of). I'm getting a mechanic to check it out tomorrow.
