correct oil filter size

well i decided to do the oil change myself since getting to the dealer has been difficult lately and i have found out the hard way that all the aftermarket oil filters are the wrong size. now i guess i have to use the old filter until i can get to the dealer. great. btw i drive a 2012 3 skyactiv.

For the record...

The base 2.0 L I4 takes a 76 mm OD filter with a 3/4"-16 thread. (Mazda LF05-14-302B, Fram 3614, K&N 1002, Mobil1 102, Motorcraft FL-910)

The SKYACTIV engine takes a 68 mm OD filter with an M20 x 1.5 mm thread. (Mazda PE01-14-302, Fram 5541, K&N 1008, Mobil1 108, Motorcraft FL-816)

Incidentally, my 3 is supposed to use the same filter as the 2012's base engine, but I can report that I've successfully been using the longer filter (Mazda ZZM1-23-802, Fram 3600, K&N 2009, M1-209, Motorcraft FL-400S) since my third oil change with zero issues. The filter is a little harder to get a wrench on, but it's still completely above the air dam.
