Corksport vs. Turbo XS

corksport is just as quiet at idle and crusing around IMO..but really wakes up when you go WOT.

this is the TBE with high flow cat in midpipe

Not to be a ass or anything... but someone has bad turbo seals!!!! That sucks man!!! I do like the luminics and the stealth sub though in your car domain. Would you recommend the sub enclosure?? I plan on joining the next GB they have.

lol I seafoamed my car. turbo seals appear to be fine.

Yeah I recommend the sub enclosure...I'm running a 8" kicker compvr with it powered by a 300W amp, but im not pushing it that hard.

I like the tone its very nice not too loud....I realized I want something quiet like this (but I want gains)after last night racing.....cops that I passed by they didnt even bother me because car was quiet....they start chasing all loudl civics...
how is seafoam is it works??

the gain is def there with downpipe/racepipe.. I did that first and then added the CBE later (CBEs were on back order). Overall I really like the exhaust, I wanted/needed something that was more aggressive sounding but also liveable day to day.

Iono I just did the seafoam for fun really and after seeing some carbon build up in the engine from some pics people had posted, and I was ready for an oil change. Only have 19k-20k on the car so its probably not needed yet.

Thanks funkyman.
I just ordered the TurboXS stealthback. Does anyone have an online version of the install? I really want to look it over before everything gets here so I know what I'm in for.

The Corksport TBE does not have any flex-hose in it. This concerns me as I know the engine likes to roll around under torque, and the clearances are pretty tight in some areas. Seems to me like without any flex in the system you could have some rattles, or worst case scenario strain those flanges enough to bend/break something.

You guys have any experiences/opinions on this?

Thanks funkyman.

If you can do it on a lift that would help. Have a buddy to hand you tools and help get stock unit out. I cut my stock one upstream of the last resonator /muffter with a sawzall. The downpipe is the hard part. You should be fine. If you get stuck pm one of us.

The only way to get extra power is by removing the cats not change the whole exhaust system and the only way to do that is get a RP and DP and or Turbo manifold.Either than that the stock exhaust etc is fine and sounds fine already tuned to the max by the Japanese engineers in Osaka. Now that i have the bolt ons to the max,i await a decent custom piggy or CPE custom tuning solution for stage 3 bolt ons being the RP,DP,Mani and CAI.

From a personal note, if i have to wait much longer i will be getting rid of the car the way the gas prices are going so hurry up people,we are running out of time, gas and money.Insurance, payments too high.:-)

Plop, that's why Mazda used rubber hangers instead of solid mounting the exhaust.

Good point. The stock exhaust doesn't have any flex hose in it either. It may be that Mazda designed the exhaust (material type and thickness, bends, donut flange) to give it enough inherent elasticity. Corksport likely did the same. Does the donut flange flex?

The CP-E catback has that huge oval muffler which fits pretty tightly within the heat shielding. Without lots of flex in the system it could rattle. This is probably why CP-E designed their downpipe with a piece of flex-hose in it.

On your personal note, I wish you would not talk like that. I also am dissapointed in the tuners lack of marketing to us. The ecu must be a struggle. Buy an efficient vehicle as your daily and put the car on stands till the tuners figure this out. Or, we are not looking in the right places for the people who have solved the decode

stock doesnt have em, why should we need them?

Yep just put in the cobb sways a few days ago..man that front was a b****

Got the Hotchies on the kitchen floor. Read instructions ten times already.small,b/w pics. oh boy. Funky, with the power upgrade that motor is going to rotate under accel/deceleration. Causing stress on the turbo side of the downpipe flange. as you mentioned Plop. But you should be upgrading your rear motor mount at this point anyways. This will reduce the flex and you should be ok. IMO.

It's not going to flop around THAT much more. And exactly at this point you should have a motor mount upgrade...in which case flex section wont be needed.
