Corksport Motor Mount Insert

Anyone here have experience with the Corksport Motor Mount Insert? Please post your opinion. Thanks.

Cheap, works good...a lot less wheel hop, no increase in vibrations, easy/smoother to shift at high rpm mainly, easy to install. I highly recommend it. A whole new entire mount may be more what you are looking for if you want all out performance/no wheel hop. But for the price and a daily driver car it's perfect for me.

just ordered mine the other day will be installed tuesday. Ive always like doing this over replacing the entire mount because you will still have a smooth idle and your steering wheel wont shake like it would with the solid or derlin ones.

I just installed a Dogbone on mine this weekend; poly version, and yes it vibes!!! I'm thinking to remove it for something smoother...

Does this insert reduce engine movement? I'm assuming the dogbone removes 95-99% of engine movement...

I don't like the vibes...makes my new car (30 days old) feel like a cluncker...

yes it stops the engine movement just like the mount you have its just not 100% solid like one you have which is kinda rertated to do on a daily driver car. new rattles will appear everyday with that solid mount your using, hahaha

from the testing we did one the CS inserts, they were equally as sloppy as the 70 duro AWR mount. i would take the inserts over the AWR though. at least the insert can hold up to abuse, unlike the AWR mounts. but as far as locking in the driveline.... they dont do very much. filling in the holes in the stock mount, helps a little, but the stock rubber is just too damn soft. and the inserts did squat for wheel hop. but there are zero vibes from them.
but ive said before... the more vibes you get from your mount, the more it is actually helping. maybe its just my outlook on mods. my though is, if you ar gonna do it, do it right. if i am going to spen my hard earned $$ on a mod i want the best part available. i dont want a half assed mod, that is a little better than stock, but not as good as other products out there. maybe itds just me ??

Give it some mileage before you scrap it. They tend to wear in.

My corksport inserts felt almost exactly like my AWR 88.
A teensy bit more vibey with the AWR but not enough to discount. My corksports greatly reduced wheel hop and engine movement.

I installed the corksport inserts a few weeks ago and i'm pleased for what it is. I mean, it's not a full mount replacement, it doesn't vibrate all over the place and it was 35.00. It does reduce engine movement but probably not as much as a full replacement that vibrates a lot more.

It's a little bit of a trade off. If you want the mount that will decrease wheel hop and engine movement the most, get the full mount replacement. But be ready for mad vibrations (this depends on how sensitive you are to things like this). If thats not your thing..get the inserts. It's a good compromise between being comfortable and actually stopping some wheel hop and engine movement.

One isn't better than the other. They serve their purposes to different degrees because not everyone wants the same thing.

i'm gonna be ordering the corksport motor mount insertes..
dumb question, but do i need to get 1 or 2.. or 4 of them?
thanks!

just installed mine, Its works great! and the motor doesn't bounce all round when you launch the car or accelerate fast. I love that the power goes strait to the wheels rather than twisting the motor.

sweet, cant wait to get mine in.
looking forward to the meet this weekend.

Are the corksport mount inserts for the front and rear (#1 and #2) engine mounts? Or are they for the side mounts like the AWR inserts? They look very similar to each other.

Its for the 4th motor mount IIRC. Its for the only motor mount that controls FWD (forward) and AFT movement of the engine... Its located under the car and right below the center console/shifter area.

How much noise and rattle do these inserts cause? Is it noticeable in the cabin? I had an ingalls stiffy (torque damper) on my scion tC back then and it make my car sound like a tractor at low rpm. Im thinking of getting the inserts since theyre cheap small upgrades which is just what im looking for, just want to know if its going to annoy me?

I ran my inserts for about 2 months or so and was happy with them. For the price, you can't beat it. There was a noticeable increase in stiffness, but they do not compare at all to the awesomeness of the CP-E mount i have now.

FYI all..... I installed the inserts couple weeks ago. I was able to remove install, and replace the inserts in about 2 hours or so, taking my time. I did remove the bracket on the trans, like has been suggested in the forum.

I don't notice any increase in noise, etc. I do notice the engine feels much tighter and solid. I think our engines move so much to transmits a "looseness" into the car. In any event it was cheap mod, with benefits.

Got mine in the mail a couple of days ago. Waiting for the next day the temps are >30 degrees to install. Maybe I'll do my oil at the same time.

I did mine on Sunday and it took 20 minutes.

I've had mine for probably a year now. They eliminated wheel hop for me, even with other HP enhancing mods made since. Some have reported that they quickly lose their effectiveness. That has not been my case at all - they are as effective as day 1. Excellent mod for the money - I would rate it the most important first mod to make.
