I'm desperately searching for one of those emoticon things that looks as confused as I feel right now, but it clearly doesn't exist.

How on earth did a motor mount make your exhaust sound better?

I went from the inserts to the dog bone. Vibrations are way more noticeable with the dog bone. But I've only had them on for about 300~400 miles. Everybody say they settle down around 1k. Also it's been cold 20~30 degrees so that has more vibes as well, when it was 70 here I thought the vibes were way better. Now the car does seem tighter and when you hit the pedal or let off the pedal it doesn't jerk nearly as much. I think it was worth it however the vibes may deter some people. But for the improvement in the way the car feels when you hit the pedal or let off I think it's worth it.

I installed mine tonight. I did it by myself, and it went "ok". Everything came out easily enough with the help of a breaker bar (I just used the bar from my hydraulic jack). The problem was putting the mount back in. I struggled for a very long time, and could not get it for anything. I really tried everything, but there was no way I was going to squeeze it back in. I eventually read more online, and found the three bolt arm trick.... which was extremely easy. I wish I did it earlier.

I just took it for an extended test drive on some country roads nearby. The car feels more controlled now... seems easy to handle because of it. There isn't nearly as much rocking back of the engine. Vibrations are almost not noticeable, and I'm sure after a week they won't be there anymore. All in all a good mod for the money.

Installed mine a couple days ago, and I agree, almost unnoticable change in vibrations. In fact, the GF didn't notice and she's extremely picky when it comes to adding noise, vibrations, etc.

I think it does tighten up the movement nicely, though. Makes shifts a little smoother.

So basically the dogbone is better at doing its job.

Yes but if it's minus 50 degrees it rattles like a mofo in my car. My homelink parking break are driving me nuts!

With wheel hop would you say its decrease is noticeable.
I want to get rid of it but i dont want my car to feel like a old car.

anybody have any pics of the inserts before they installed beacuse mine didnt look like the ones in the instructions. ill try and post a pic of them up sometime tonight.

The ones in the install pic may be the ones from the standard 3. I haven't looked at the install pics yet because my inserts are waiting for me about 150 miles away right now...I'll be getting them this weekend but don't know if I'll have time to install them right away.

Just a theory, anyway. (dunno)

i got mine installed i guess the pics are the regular 3 beacuse the ones in the pic would not have worked. I have to say its a good buy for $35 not much added vibration and a lot less flex in the engine. let out the clutch and it goes as before it took a sec. i get a small vibration right when the motor lights off though. thied doing it by just removing the two bolts then i cme to my sences and just remover the other 3 bolts and it came out so easy. i might want to replace the bolt that goes through the inserts and the mounts it had a little corosion on it, it didnt look good im sure all is fine but i dont want to deal with it if its not. 30-40 min instal with oil change included.

What a b*tch!!!

I installed my inserts tonight. I used ramps instead of jackstands, so maybe that made the engine harder to move forward, but I struggled for an hour trying different ways to get enough leverage to move it forward enough to get the mount back in. Congrats to those who were able to remove the bolts on the engine-mounted piece. I coudn't loosen them even by hammering on a breaker bar! They were definitely torqued to WAY more than 70 ft-lbs!

So, after an hour of frustration, pulled muscles, spilled beer, etc., I came up with a different trick - wish I'd thought of it to begin with! I used to jack to move the engine forward. Attached is a pic of where I put it. It's great for one person - you can use two hands to get the mount in! I highly recommend it...

Oh yeah - I didn't notice any additional vibration after the install, and the shifts are much more responsive. Definitely worth the bux (especially if you install it the easy way ;))
