As I said in my post - congrats to those who were able to do that. I could not loosen mine. In fact, I was using the bolts with my wrench to try to move the engine forward, and they didn't break loose.

I installed my inserts tonight. I used ramps instead of jackstands, so maybe that made the engine harder to move forward, but I struggled for an hour trying different ways to get enough leverage to move it forward enough to get the mount back in. Congrats to those who were able to remove the bolts on the engine-mounted piece. I coudn't loosen them even by hammering on a breaker bar! They were definitely torqued to WAY more than 70 ft-lbs!

So, after an hour of frustration, pulled muscles, spilled beer, etc., I came up with a different trick - wish I'd thought of it to begin with! I used to jack to move the engine forward. Attached is a pic of where I put it. It's great for one person - you can use two hands to get the mount in! I highly recommend it...

Oh yeah - I didn't notice any additional vibration after the install, and the shifts are much more responsive. Definitely worth the bux (especially if you install it the easy way ;))

HAH! I used to do that to change motor mounts 30 years ago. I thought it was a good idea then, too. Scissors jacks have many uses!

Are you using the crossmember to brace against?

yeah as was said before its much esier to just remove that whole bracket instead of removing the 1 bolt and pushing the engine.. thats how they should have explained it in the instructions take all 3 bolts off the bracket slide it out install side it in tighten brackets...done!!!

Yes - you can see in the picture how it fits above the lip of the crossmember - also keeps it from sliding off.

Hello, I know this thread is old but if someone can write up the instruction of how to install them.

I'm going to order them but i want to compare the instruction to what you tell me.

Thank you.

Lift car

Undo main vertical mount bolt and horizontal bracket bolt at firewall

undo three bolts holding the aluminum bracket to the engine mount

remove mount and bracket

insert inserts

reverse to install, torque big bolts to about 60-80 ft/lbs, recommend Loctite just because.

i dont see the 3rd bolt on the pic on page 3.

1 bolt on the black metal
1 bolt mounts on the engine
wheres the 3rd one?

noob question :D

these inserts might be the easiest installaton known to man. It takes more time to prepare the car for the mod (jacking up, jackstands, etc), than performing the mod itself!

Don't follow their directions... After you undo the 2 obvious bolts, undo the 3 bolt bracket too (you'll see what i mean). This will make it a simpler install...

+1
