I'll try to keep this simple and describe the event's as good as possible so here we go...
- We had some trouble installing this bad boy but after all the curse words and a few cuts we got the job done. It took us about 4-5 hours of actual work. The biggest pain was the o2 sensor, we stripped it but somehow we managed to re thread it just enough for it to catch on. I have a custom 3" catback so I had to cut it off in order to install this downpipe. I'm headed back to the exhaust shop on Tuesday to get a flange put on my catback so it can bolt directly up to the downpipe so I have a nice 2 piece exhaust. So you got it folks, I put the corksport downpipe on and thats all I have on.
Well who cares about the install right? We all want to know how it performs... All I have to say this is one of the biggest upgrades I think you can do to this car. I'm so impressed with the downpipe, you can hear the turbo de-spool when you let off the gas, its so loud since I'm running open DP, if your at a decent RPM and you hit the gas your boost builds so much quicker, almost instant. The power throughout the band feels so much better, my boost gauge is actually reading that I'm boosting about 1 psi more give or take and for the first time I hit fuel cut in 4th once while I was racing a WRX. The top end now on my car is insane!!!
To prove its just not all in my mind, I ran a WRX (my best friend) who put down 330whp and has racing gears, before he would walk me, I'd say 10-15 cars. We went from a 20 roll and it was dead even until I shifted into 4th and then he pulled a few cars (2-3) and let off...he said "I'm amazed of how much faster that thing is now and wanted a ride
I'd like to Thank Corksport for making a very nice product and I'd like to Thank Ken at protegegarage for helping me out!!! Now if cp-e would come out with that PNP standback, I can start putting down some real power! Good things to come. (drive2)
Also I have no smoke so far and no CEL.
