Would you then... then suggest pairing a CAI with this FMIC, or an SRI?

Any benefits or drawbacks of one or the other?

This FMIC sounds pretty leet.

What if you have the cobb ap? (I do btw) wouldnt the intake system of cs be way too different than the mscai or cobbsri that you couldnt use their maps anymore? How bout the whole cs fmic, wouldnt that call for a totally new map from cobb? i guess it wouldnt matter if you're gonna get your car custom tuned. Does the intake of cs fmic comes with a flow straightener?

honestly, there isn't going to be enough variation in the function of the two intake systems to throw off an AccessPORT that much. keep in mind the AP is tuned rather generously so it works with all cars operating in a variety of climates and elevations. the maps aren't so exact that having one SRI to the next is going to throw off your fuel trims that much.

what is the price for the corksport whole kit? it appears to come with a lot of things. Also, does it come with the K&N filter for the intake box that replaces the tmic?

it comes with the k&n filter, inlet pipe, all tubing, t clamps, just go to there website, i got mine for just under a grand

sorry to revive an old thread.

sup everyone, i just bought a 09 mazspd3 Friday and im loving it. I want to change to a FMIC, will it void my warranty if i do so?

all depends on the dealership. i recently got a DTC of misfiring and they wouldnt do anything about it because of my front mount kit.

Which FMIC kit do you have ? How long have you had the kit installed ? What other mods do you have ?

the corksport, i had it installed for a year before the CEL was installed so i HIGHLY doubt its becuase of the kit... and the HKS BOV, vented to air which could cause it to misfire because of the slight richness in between shifts... and thats really it under the hood-wise...

the CEL is just becuase im running rich and when it came on i redlined it for a second or 2 in between shifts and i think that it finally set it off because im running to rich and it misfired after i redlined it..

im getting the car tuned to 17 lbs and i wont be running as rich so ill have them clear the cel and see what happens..

but its def not from the front mount... i only posted that because even if u get a problem under the hood that has nothing to do with your mod.. they might not cover it.

thanks for the info

i just spoke with the service manager at my dealership and he's coool with me adding a FMIC, forge BPV and any other products thats going to make the car perform eefficiently and preserve the motor.

so im ive been reading alot on upgrades.

if someone can tell me if this is what the general consensus has seen as the best quality mods brands

these are the mods i will start with

-Cobb FMIC
-Forge BPV or is there a BOV thats just as good as the Forge BPV?(i would like alittle more sound but i want was best for my car)
-TRZ motor mount
-Apexcone H7 HID kit
-mazdaspeed CAI (are there better gains with the mazspd CAI than the Cobb intake?)

ive made this same post in three different threads since im not seeing alot of activity
