cork sport exhaust

I heard maybe in the next couple of months. I am anxious too.

All I'm missing on my car from the system is the actual down pipe. I've got the... uhhh... OE downpipe -back system now.

I used their system on my MS.. it was originally made before they were out. But it fits the same on the turbo models.

man, if corksport can sell this for 589 and make it look tight as s*** AND it is a full turboback, not magnus style then i say hell the fizzuck yeah. Im sorry but that pic is sick period.

I cant wait for it. It is awesome. Plus it replaces the s-bend. Yeah im happy.

The system in the pic is the one that's on my car now :-D , I posted a little about it this week. I'll try to get some pics of it from under my car this week.

Vega herd it, I fired it up for him when we met up the other day.

I can't wait for the 2 3/4" pipe and titanium muffler.

Yep, and it was enough to sell me. Wasn't too loud, nice tone, not raspy or "fart-canny" (is that a word?) at all. It was enough tone to remind you that you are driving a performance car, if that makes sense. I would like a ride so I could hear it through the gears.

That S-bend will require taking out the turbo to remove it. Lots of work, and I could be wrong, but I'm not sure how much better that S-piece could be made than the stock one.

EDIT: A bell or horn shaped piece would be a lot better I guess...

Shoulda' been at Woodburn today Vega! :D

I'll take you for a ride sometime if you like.

Cool, I was here at work of course! I don't think I can handle your car at those insane levels of boost though, may have to turn it down some...

I was very close to ordering the Protosport downpipe in the group buy. Damn, decisions, decisions...

well the s-pipe has a diameter of 2 1/4 off the turbo so not much air is releasing, now make that 3" and we got some nice free flowing exhaust there
im sold on this product.

so any new news regarding this peice, i wasnt aware that there exhuast replaced the s bend as well?!! will that make instalation more difficult. So i guess there are no cats either?! wow i want it now!

There will probably a few options actually....

There will be a full turbo-back system (S-pipe and all). Cats removed, kind of an off-road type setup. (off road or renagade ;))
In the future there will also be a midpipe type piece that will eliminate both cats and replace that section with just one high flow cat. Then I'm sure there will also be the option of just a cat-back system. Not to mention there will be size options. 2.5" (NA and turbo cars have the same exhaust set up). And either a 2.75" or a 3". The bigger size has not been concluded yet.

I saw the S-pipe today in person (off a car I mean). It's not going to be that big of deal to make a slightly larger one out of stainless.

So pretty much anything you want you'd be able to get I suppose.

The website is updatted as soon as new info is released. I am not sure on dates when the stuff will be ready for purchase yet. The IC Pipe kit and intake along with the exhaust will all be ready around the same time.

Hey Sonic,

Saw the CorkSport website was updated and explained a little more about the intake and how you were going to get the cold air into that void. Would you happen to know how much testing is left? Also... do you know if there will be any dyno time or temp readings to show how much colder this air will be over the stock location?

Keep up the good work. :D

hey sonic what where your times at woodburn?

I was only running 3psi (long story) at the time. I didnt' have time to raise it or put it back to stock.

My best time was 15.2@89 (I think 89). I posted something about it the weekend after. I don't think it was all that bad considering I was robbed a good chunck of power, only making two passes (I was racing another Protege in for the actual event), and have not raced a FWD car w/ street tires for 3 seasons..

The little things are being worked out now... I think dyno time will be in the future however. I don't really agree with dyno figures with intakes though. The conditions are not really the same on the road as they are in a garage with a big fan. :)

There will probably be temp figures too.
