damnit. well the car started overheating again. took a while for to start. drove for about 500 miles everything is good. so i am driving home then the temp gauge starts rising and stops at about 5/8 of the way. i previously changed out the thermostat, new cap and got the radiator cleaned out. so now i am guessing it could be the water pump or there might be something wrong with the headgasket. is there a way to test the water pump? any help is appreciated.

yeah checked for leaks. havent done a commression test lately, but likea month ago they were fine. all 4 cylinders where like at 160-170. although i did notice alot more oil coming from the valve cover.

do a pressure test on the water system
a mechanics shop should have the tool and adapter, and also u could do a combustion chemical test on the coolant to see if your head gasket is blown..
