Contacting AEM or Injen

I don't think you realize how hard it is to hydrolock a car. Basically if your hydrolocking your car, your life is in danger. Thats how much water you have to be in. No secondary spray, puddles, or general road water is going to effect a car with a CAI...only a full blown flash flood across the roadway in 2-4 feet of water, is going to accomplish that.

With that in mind, two known mazda 6's have hydrolocked. One with an injen cai, and one COMPLETELY BONE STOCK.

If you get in water deep enough to hydrolock your car, you've got other problems, like being trapped in a flood, or sinking down a lake.

Beleve crossbow on this one...anyone who seen my setup always asks me am I crazy(crazy) If you stand in front of my car you can see my filter...I ran thru multiple storms and high pressure washes with car still on and never hydrolocked. at first I may have been just like you $#!tin bricks but after multiple accurances and 2nd car with cai you really have to do alot. also take into consideration if you didn't do the tb mod the throttle body is over 100 degrees so if it makes you feel any better whatever comes in contact with it will be burned and remaining will be burned when comes in contact with pistons valves and cylinder walls.

I don't know about you guys but I still have't fully cleaned the motorcraft 5W-20 off the tb yet so right now every lil bit helps (evil)

I have a can scanner. I always keep in my car. Just come to the next meet I'm at and I'll happily scan your car.

Morris,

With those type's of assumptions, you'll be one of the first 3 owners to destroy their own engine.

Get a scanner, buy it if you have to, but don't sit there and assume the check engine light is caused by something you feel to be "Benign".

I'd also watch your A/F ratio...the injectors in the 6i/3s aren't exactly "oversized' for the application, and the stock AF runs 11.5:1 at 6500 rpm. If your spraying a 50 shot....your getting close to leaning out the engine at WOT. Anything more then a 50 (talking dry shots here), and your heading down replacement lane.

thanks for the tip ..my shots aren't dry 60+1 shot...car seem really taking it fine...just finished my 5th bottle and no problems and i have the big scuba style bottle fills up with $95
