Connecting Palm Pilot

I bought a older palm pilot that plays mp3 files and has a large touch screen. It has a normal headphone 1/8 inch RCA output. I have the normal CD deck but I do not have a tape deck just have it blocked off with a black cover. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions about being able to hardwire a RCA cable directly into my deck....

The other two alternatives are to buy a tape deck and install and use a tape deck wire thingy. And second to get an FM transmitter. But i find the sound quality is better with hard wiring music.

Anything would be appreciated, Thanks in advanced!

Look around with the "Search" function for aux mod for the oem headunit. I think that will give you what your are looking for. Do not go with the tape unit, it will cost an arm and a leg and sound like crap. If you are thinking of ripping out the oem radio and putting in a cheap tape deck, do not!

The other option is to replace the oem with a decent aftermarket headunit with audio inputs. You will then just need a converter wire that takes rca inputs and turns them into a regular jack. I replaced my headunit with a Eclispe 7000 headunit and boy did it improved the quality (not that stock was all that horrible)!

i was looking for this same mode the other day, and founf nothing, if antone finds info on this, let me know.. thanks

I was looking around for something similar last night and came up with this:

Not sure of your application, but it may work for you. I think I might get it to hook up an iPod that was given to me this week. (cool) (I have the factory CD player, as well) It hooks into your antenna out, so it does use the FM frequency, but it is hard wired and from all the reviews, people seem to really like it.

Kenwood makes one also that has RCA, USB and some other input, but at $200 I don't think it is very cost effective.

I thought about swapping a JVC headunit into the 5, but I'm kind of digging the 6 disc changer in it, so I'd like to keep it for now. FYI, I borrowed a friends FM transmitter thingy today (the wireless FM connector for iPod) and the sound quality just wasn't doing it for me...

(edit) Here is the Kenwood: http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=50900&i=113KOSA200&c=3&tp=422

If the palm pilot has bluetooth and music streaming capabilities, you could get a unit like the sony mex-bt2500. Feeds data directly to the head unit through bluetooth, and you can even control it using the HU.
