Sometimes (as 1stMP3 can testify), your car may throw a cel and give an OBD-II code that is not in the manual. FYI, OBD-II is a generic language, so the codes are the same for all makes and models. About.com has a complete listing of all OBD-II codes:

http://autorepair.about.com/library/ts/obd-ii/bl-obd-main.htm

There's also a PDF (search "OBD-II printable" on the net) with the whole list if you want to have a hard copy in your garage. It's hella long, though. :) Some OBD-II reader programs for palm OS based PDA's comes with a built-in translator that tells you what the code is.

Hope it helps.

That's some good info Brooke! I carry all the codes in my PDA, and can even search through them. SWEET!:D

Call me stupid but, what is a PDA? I want to buy an old portable computer with the plug for the ecu and load the software to interact with the ecu.

Is this what u guys are doing? If not, what do u guys use?
