Cold air intake tune issue

Hey guys so I just got a cold air intake for my mazda3 I sport and not only did the cars gas mileage go way down(which I expected) but the throttle is being sluggish and I have noticed the car running really hot as well. I'm worried its running really lean and I don't want to damage my engine. What do I do?

What kind of cai did you buy ?
It's your Maf clean?
It's your Maf bolted on right?
Something inside the intake pipe: any paper wrapping or plastic wrap?

I just installed an eBay cai w/k&n filter if anything my mpg didnt change/went up
and throttle response it's much better especially after 4k rpm

if you got one of those throttle body to tucked under the bumper cold airs the only solution to lean problem is to take off the bottom part of the pipe and run the air filter on the first piece problem solved!
