Code P2119 Throttle actuator

I've had this same code p2119 twice now. The throttle plate area in the throttle body does have some carbon. Has anyone taken off and cleaned their throttle body? And did it work? Or does it end up being the tps sensor that is part of this throttle body? Like replace the whole thing?

it probably wouldn't hurt to clean it, but i'm not really sure that its gonna fix the problem. i would assume that since the code is for the actuator, is something other than the plate itself.

I too would clean the throttle body but, in addition; I would remove and check for moisture in the actuator electrical connections.

this happened in a buddys srt-4. we cleaned it, put it back in, did nothing....called dodge and got the sensor because some are faulty on the different stages they have. put it on and works great. check the sensors, that sounds like the problem.

P2119 code

Took off throttle body and surprise, no carbon. Just a lttle soot in one spot. So I replaced the whole thing since there was a part number change which usually means better part. It's now fixed.

There is an electric motor inside and it has brushes that were worn out. Poor design for a constantly used part.

My 07 5 did this a few times over the last few years but now its doing it pretty regularly. Sucks when you hope in to go and it won't, turn it off, wait a min off and try again then it works fine. I'm going to go through the harness a bit before spending $350 on a TB (5 must be cheaper).
