Cobra Shift knobs from momo?

I used to have the crystal momo, same exact shape as these only clear - it was rather uncomfortable, if you find the stock shifter comfortable you will not find this one all that nice. Also I gave it atleast 2 months to get used to it, and I did not, so ...meh...it looks nice but go for something more circular.

how much did you pay for your shifter? and WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR GRILL!! i want it!

NM about your grill i just found your other thread after i posted this one

I think I paid like 50 for it off ebay, but I got a new one now, from MOMO, I think it is called 'Competition', it's just a little chrome stick, goes well with shortshifters.

Hey pro5owner........
I got two friends with those shift nobs but just in different colour.....and both of them are telling me they want to sell it and buy a circular one.
I asked them why and they both said that thing is uncomfortable as hell after a while of driving.........
But the only good thing about it is that it looks good..........
So you might want to reconsider about those cobra or combat ones.........But its your money...hehe...good luck.......

Isotta makes some very nice round shifter knobs. That's what I have and I really like the feel. Only problem is the top of mine is metal. Here in GA it's hot as hell right now and the metal part heats up when my car sits out all day long.

Folks we need to lobby KartBoy for a P5 shift knob, they make a sweet round knob to mate with their Subie short shifter. But it's Metal, so some of ya might not want that.

Check out their site. I've already inquired and Tom told me they're thinking about it. If we get them some orders he might think harder : )

Pro5, your shifter shouldn't get hot if you have tinted windows. If I were you you might wanna go to a tint place and get a "tint visor" put in at the top of your windshield, would probabaly block the sun out of your car and heating your shiftknob...otherwise... park your car facing a different way, heh

"but tinted windows don't mean nothing when you know whos inside!!"

lol 50 points for the person that tells me where thats from?

Have you tried Voodoo knobs? This is a company that started making billet aluminum knobs for the Miata years ago and they now have a variety.

I have one of their "spun aluminum" round knobs on my Miata and it looks and feels great. One bonus is that this thing is threaded to screw onto the Mazda factory shift shaft without using any fitting screws. Just screw off the old one and screw on the new one.

I took the knob off my Miata and put it on my wife's Protege5 and it fit perfectly. It also sits about a half-inch lower than the factory knob.

The only disadvantage I see is that the aluminum does get pretty hot when the car has been parked in the sun.

One great thing... these knobs all cost under $35 US.

pr5owner that's a run-dmc song. Tricky.

50 points for me.

It's getting hot just because the air in the car is in the 90's. The sun is not hitting it directly. I'm not getting 3rd degree burns or anything, it's just hot to the touch.

Also only my rear windows are tinted, not the front ones.

whoo~ i like the yellow combat ones, however, its kinda expensive and look kinda uncomfortable... wait, what do i know? im driving AT, nevermind...

can't find a carbon combat shift knob, but the chrome with leather is only 68 CAD bux at soundsarround. i can probably knock em down to 50 :)

i got the chrome/silver combat shift knob today! matches the outside of my car perfectly! shifts okay but i think i need a shoft shifter now lol :D
