Can I use Stage2?

I saw 1 post on here that if I have a test pipe I can bump the AP to a Stage2+INCAI even tho I have a stock downpipe and race pipe? I'm just trying to clear this up before I try it out. I'm going to run the Stage1+ for now. Please let me know!

Yes, that's correct. You will probably have better luck with a Stage 2 map if you have a test pipe.

I know I didn't have a stock race pipe but I have a stock down pipe. That is why I was wondering if I could run the Stage2+ AP because it states you should have an aftermarket Downpipe with a Cat. But I have a stock Downpipe with a test pipe.

Man that is some kind of confusing haha

the first cat is alot more dense then the second one and yes its confusing but in order for a stage 2 tune to run ok youd need a testpipe at the minimum, you wont see the maximum amount of gains you can get from a stage 2 map but your car will run better on a stage 2 then a 1.

I just started running that set-up, and things are good so far. I have the 3" SU test pipe & 3" GHL dual cbe (rest of mods in sig). I'm running the stage 2+TIHSF 93oct OTS map, and I'll I've done is calibrated my MAF. The LTFT's only hit +3 at a certain volatage, so I'm happy with that. I haven't had any fuel cut, and I'm seeing very little KR. However, if you run stage 2, make sure your stock fuel pump can handle it (many can't... there was TSB for this as well, but they prob won't do it anways, and I'm not sure it can hold up regardless... You want the CPE or PTP... they hold 1600psi all day long. That's next on my list, but if I see it drop below 1200, I'm running the stock map until I get the fuel pump.

I did a few dyno pulls to get 3 and 4th gear WOT data. I only had KR of 0.35 in a few places at WOT and my fuel pump is holding pretty strong. My AFRs are leaning out a bit I think, but I'm new to the AP, and trying to bust the learning curve here. I'm kinda at a loss of what to do now. I've been reading ATR left and right, but my base knowledge is lacking and it's a lot to take in. I'm starting to get the hang of it, but I got a ways to go. The car rips though... waay faster than stock, and the BPV purges like it's set to VTA (but not quite as loud, lol)

Congrats on your new business!! Best of Luck (2thumbs)

Cobb's new version 1.03 maps . . .

Regarding the newest v 1.03 Stage1 93 Octane map from the Cobb website, can someone explain what the update actually changed?

In the map notes it says . . .
1.03 - Updated to correct fuel table saving issue and to update maps for minor bug that was found. Performance of the maps has not changed outside of these corrections.

- What was the fuel table saving issue?
- Any idea what the bug was?
- Since performance is unaffected, what is the benefit to me to update my ECU?

. . . cheers

The saved map will be saved on your AP just like any other map. So change your tune to the stock tune just as you would an OTS map.

My AP can't read my ecu anymore. I have tried every trick I have tried in the past and no luck. fml

I am just concerned cause there was a stock there prior to me installing (from the previous owner)
I think i deleted it but don't remember.

Think it would over wright?

If it comes down to it, you can just use the stock map that is already on the AP. Same difference really.

I'm gonna switch maps and try the Stage 2+ TIHSF 93 map today, instead of my Stage 2 93 and see how the car reacts. I had good luck with that map when I ran the MSCAI, but now I want to see if this map tailored for the mods is a little better.

Stage1+SF 93 v103 map . . .

According to the Cobb website, the requirement for this map is . . . "Intended for an otherwise stock 2006-2007 MAZDASPEED6 vehicle with a stock or cat-back exhaust and a COBB SF intake system only."

When they refer to the Cobb SF intake "system", does the word "system" refer to the SF intake PLUS the turbo inlet pipe, or is just the SF intake required?

Thank you in advance,
cheers
