Cobb AP Discussion Thread

i think 16.5 but my gauge says 12 and its off the stock bov. but the ap says it spikes around 17 and takes to 16-15. i will get a datalog in a few hundo km's to see if everything is alrighty. i get between 0 and .1 kr under wot so im not too worried. just wondering why it dont feel fast to me. well i did have 3 people total in the car, and one was 300+lbs, im 230, and my gf is like 1XX??? she might read this so i must not say...

the cobb dyno said a 3rd gear pull after guessing our weight's is around 320hp 360 tq. now i am assuming that would be engine.
but my cel keeps blinking on startup after only, well its been 100km, so i assume its still learning.

It may be the atmosphere making your gauge read funny, or it could be that you have a boost leak somewhere (maybe at the BPV). That would also explain your lack of power.

As for the Cobb dyno feature, it so inaccurately measures wheel torque that it actually resembles a ball-park guess of your engine horsepower. I wouldn't rely on it, but at least it gives you an idea of if a modification helped out or not.

humm, well i did a 3rd gear pull again on my own and 3rd felt as fast as second in terms of how short i was in it, so i think something is working...

I had bad KR with both the Stage2 91 and 93 TIHSF maps as well as the TIHSF TMIC maps.

Switched back to the Stage2 93 TMIC and have no problems.

Hey Blender, just to clarify, you are actually using one of the intake-less maps? Or did you just forget to type the +SF in there? Would you or anybody else happen to know exactly what is difference between maps made for different intakes?

You can run the less specific maps with mods, it's recommended that you try to match up the map specifically to your mods though.

I'm running the Stage 2 93 v101e because it offered the best performance and lowest KR of any I'd tried.

question...can i load more than one map at a time on the cobb ap before installing to the car? like download 3 or 4 maps that i think would work on my car so i didnt have to keep running back to my computer ? or is it one at a time? thanks

You can load several different maps to the AP, then switch them in about 4 minutes if you want to try something different. I recommend doing that before you start tuning too.

Does the AP hurt mpg during DD conditions ??

Depends on who you talk to. Personally, I got between 1-2 mpg better on the highway.

Yes, I am using a map tuned for an upgraded TMIC and Cat-back exhaust only.

in my case i get less mpg with the tune but thats because of my setup, if u just have an intake and a cat-back exhaust, u could see some mpg improvements.

before i put the full Corksport TBE, DP and PG Mani on i was getting 3-4 mpg's better and more if i went on a long trip...but not anymore lol

I don't think I've had a map on long enough to really judge gas mileage, but mine's definitely been worse. Who cares though, much faster, still great on gas for the amount of power available.

I've set up a few different maps with all of my adjustments (smoothed throttle / load adjustments) and I'm gonna see what gives the least amount of knock. I done this with both the Stage1+SF 91 v102 and Stage1+SF 91 v103a maps. Anybody using either of these or heard of someone who is or know what the difference is between the 2 versions?

To further contribute to what he's saying, when I had just a test pipe, intake, TIP, and the Cobb AP using a Stage2 93 +SF map I went from 21 city 25-26 highway (stock) to 25.5 city and 33.7 highway (modded).

Was a really, really nice improvement. Of course, slapping on exhaust, a TMIC, and turning up the boost has brought me back down to 23.5 city and 32 highway.

im having trouble getting my maps onto the ap. i took one of the stage1 91 + tihsf and modified a few things :) but i cant figure out for the life of me how to get it onto the ap and running on my car.

HALP please. (attn)

on my way home from work today i managed to see a total combined mpg reading of 39.1 :) on the economy mode. with a full on highway drive thats gonna be pretty freaking sweet.

In the AP Manager program, you have to drag the map that is in your library to the AP icon that's on the left-hand side.

Wondering why i still cant get the throttle to open up to more then 60%. thats the most i get out of its duty cycle. does it open further with the stage 2 maps? im trying to do some street tuning and since i cant get the throttle to open past 60% i cant do anything :(

Thats odd. Im pretty sure it should be displaying 79.xx when WOT. Which is actually 100% open. (breakn)

just loaded the map with the sri and tip combo so i will in about a week when the ltft's have leveled out and the cel stops blinking. I still cant figure out why my Boost gauge says 12 psi, and the ap spikes at 16-17. :( saddness.

i tried also to get the FFS and Launch Control to work but the LC acts as the new rev limiter so i couldnt even get past 3200 rpm where i had it set :( . Should i adjust my clutch pedal? or would that not even be the problem? im at work and i just took it for a juant to get lunch so i didnt get a chance to get on it with the stupid low rev limiter. thinking that would be a fun prank for when my dad wants to take the car for a drive... set the limiter to 2700 to limit his speed to roughly 65-70 mph lol
