Cobb AP, 93 oct?

well with the extra octane they have more of a cushion for timing/denotation = more power *argh argh tim taylor grunt*

I was wondering the same thing being that we dont get 91 down here in florida. I think they said before that they tried it and didnt yield much gains.

I've also been waiting for these for quite some time myself. I'm happy with my 91 octane maps and look forward to what Cobb can crank out for us 93 users.

For those that run the 91 maps, do you stick to 91 only or do you use 93? I use 93 only up here in MA as it's more of the norm at gas stations. I wouldn't be opposed to using 91 if I had to, but I would think there would be some additional benefits using a 93 tune. It's certainly the case for GTI's & WRX's...

the benefit of higher octane is the prevention of engine denotation so switching gas rating would have a minimal noticeable difference. to most misconception, gas doesn't yield more power but allows you to make power safely. I would believe cobb tunes are done more on the safe side also so probably only a/f was touched. not saying a 93map wouldn't yield a difference but for the end user safety i wouldn't expect cobb to be adjusting timing too much. This is why self-tuning option would be a plus. especially since no single car runs the same.

I'd take the extra safety factor over a few ponies any day. I hope they don't take too long with the release of these maps. I've still got a hard on waiting for the SRI to be sent.

I am happy with the tune, and 103 maps should be coming in the next couple of weeks. Supposedly they will be radically different, but I am enjoying the current maps thoroughly.

where in FL are you? All we have is 93 where Im at...
