Clutch engagement problems..

sorry, not to jackthread or anything, but can someone describe the way to adjust the pedal? i never done this before. but i really need to. my clutch wont catch until i let go almost all the way. mayb a inch before i let of all the way it will catch. i thought it was just a worn clutch orsomething... idk. i do drive kinda hard at times. is there some kind of screw or a bolt i need to loosen/tighten? thanks guys. also might try to bleed my clutch.

Would a worn clutch plate have a similar effect? How do you know when the clutch is ready to go?

well thats when u let go all the way off the clutch, but it wont catch. like the rpms r still goin up without catching for like a good 5 seconds after u let go of the clutch all the way.

Check for a lock nut behind the plate that attaches to the clutch pedal. The nut locks a rod in place that goes through the firewall to the slave cylinder. You can turn this rod to either lower or raise the clutch pedal. You'll want to readjust the clutch pedal stop Bolt that's on the front side of the clutch pedal for freeplay from the top of the stroke. Once you get underneat the steering wheel and dash, look for the clutch pedal/adjusting nuts/bolts. The freeplay bolt also has a lock nut, so you'll want to loosen that first. The nuts are 12mm, and you can rotate the adjuster Rod by hand.

Sam, call me. Money in hand. I also need to see how much a new Fidanza removable surface is for my flywheel. Arrow-Speed is a distributor if that helps...

ya as soon as the winter/ cold is gone im goin to try to adjust my pedal. this will change "where" the clutch engages on my clutch right? i never tried this before, but im down for anything new =)

wow that sucks, so it somehow was the clutch? but what happened to make it like that all of a sudden? how many miles did you have on it?

Mine's still holding up fine. A tiny bit of chatter when releasing the pedal slowly, but the engagement is still in the center of the pedal travel.

I probably need a new surface for the Fidanza too. Been on the car since Feb. 2002!

Just reminder (you probably know) that you don't need to resurface, just buy a new friction surface... (deadhorse

That's right...beat that horse!! BEAT IT!!

LOL!! I would have bought a new friction surface, but they want $100 for that s***. **** that!! I'm BROKE N*g*a!! I found my old stock flywheel in my garage with low miles on it, and just got it resurfaced. I realized that my stock flywheel was only used for about 6 months..lol! So to recap, I will have a Fidanza 9 lbs flywheel up for sale soon (minus a good friction surface kit).
