Clutch burnt

the Mazda is on its way to Wooster as you read this. I was on my way outa the garage, did alright backing out went to put it in 1st gear, the engine was still a lil on the cold side (i let it warm up for a good 5 min but still cold) so i was going easy on her. all of the sudden i haer this crazy ass noise. i take it outa gear and stop it. put back in 1st and try to start again. no noise but it wont go into gear. i mean the stick and everything hits the gear but its like its still in neutral. I am assuming this is a clutch problem. i even tried every gear. what truly sucks ass is that i dont even push the car that hard. not much "spirited driving". I understand this kind of thing happening if u run the piss outa the car but with only 9000 miles maintained frequently and driven like a normal car? The car has no motor modifications so it should still be under warentee correct?

most defin under warranty...bring it in..get a free loner car, beat the s*** out of it.....and while you're at it try to get some other free stuff out of it too...only 9000 miles (unless you cant drive)

No mods=warranty.
The clutch has 12month/12k mile warranty, so since you have 9k miles, and have had it less than a year, youre good to go.
Sucks, but shouldnt be too big a problem to fix.
:)

dropping the clutch too often. pray that it will be covered otherwise you'll be out $1300. :/

i dont drop the clutch! haha im easy on my tires. speaking of im havin a bad day with cars. i took the benz out while my beast is in the shop. heard some nasty noise and parked it at the japanese food restraunt. came out and there was a bolt the size of a pe... u get the idea. in my tire

Well, I'm seriously thinking its the differential. There was a noise and the car suddenly stopped moving. Then again, that's all that's been on my mind lately so it could just be the clutch. :D

Is the clutch really only covered for 12month/12k miles? I figured it was covered for the length of the warranty.

Man I'm getting screwed on that deal. The car is 10 months old and I only have 2500 miles on it. I'm sure it will be that way for anything that has a time or mileage limit for me.

Did the car roll without resistance when you were in neutral? When did you hear the noise? Were you depressing the clutch? What about the tranny?

Dont worry to much about it you have no miles and no mods. Me on the other hand, well I just dont know. There taking my tranny apart 2morrow. Im praying its covered.

so yeah not only will they not look at it till monday, they have no more loaner cars. so i am s*** outa luck for the weekend

they have to give you a loaner car... if they "are out of them" they have to go rent one and give it to you

It's part of your warranty, that with warranty repairs you are to be given a loaner

so yea I would think they'd have to (dunno)

although the "they will not look at it till monday" part might give them an excuse not to for the weekend

Keep in mind if this is found to be an "abuse" related incident, you may not get the loaner car for more than one day or they may actually make you pay for it.

wow that sounds like exactly what happened to b00sted. He heard a noise and when he put it in any gear it would go nowhere
