If your dealership would come up with bs like that, I wouldn't put it put it past them to install the wrong parts on your car.
You know there is such a think as Mazda Canada if you are having problems with a dealership..

I'm not having a probelm with my dealer pre se.... just this grinding noise...
I have had this problem with all orginal parts on the car... so I know its not the endlinks, I did hav one strut replaced for leaking oil, and after that I noiticed this grinding noise a lot and they told me there is a cap that keeps gravel out and it wasn't installed properly.
any ideas on things I can look for?

Well, i'm having my E bushings replaced today by Mazda.
The car wasn't clunking, the rear suspoension was squeaking like there were a pack of mice living in the trunk.
I only really noticed after my stock Kenwood stereo bit the dust. Driving with no stereo exposes the many creaks and rattles our cars come with.

They just had to be lubed. But if you're getting new ones, then all then all the better.

I'm squeaking and clunking, obviously. I'm past warranty, not that I had one anyways since I bought it used. Is it worth paying to have the bushings replaced if the clunk is just going to come back?
when my e's started squeaking a few weeks ago, I could lie under the car, and just grab the rear bumper and push up/pull down and it squeaked REALLY bad.
Applied WD-40....squeak gone. Hasn't come back. Then again, it also isn't as warm as it was a few weeks ago. That might not have anything to do with it, but if something was expanding due to heat...... ah nevermind.

Wd-40 dries out so it will come back its really not a lube i would try some silicone spray best thing for rubber.
wd40 will wash out for sure, and it will probably squeak again. It was just something to hold me over until I get to the dealer again.
That being said, that was over two weeks ago. If it stays away, I ain't messin with it. I've had (knock on wood) no clunk for 7+months and I don't want to take those bushings off until I absolutely have to. If it squeaks again, 2 mins work for some wd-40 squirted on em.....I can live with that every few weeks. For as much as I used, the can would probably last me 3 yrs.

I'm sceptical with this WD-40 trick, but since mine started squeeking like hell today, it sounds interesting.
I mean, just a bit of WD-40, even every week, would be much less pain than to complain to the dealer every here and there.
I'm just curious ... Can the WD-40 degrade the bushing material ? I guess not, but that's the only thing that retains me from going out with my WD-40 right away.

Just use silicone spray im tellin you it makes rubber last longer. I put a peice of rubber on my shifter to keep the boot up. Anyway it was so tight i i sprayed wd-40, then white grease, then finially silicon and it went on with ease. Also if you use it on your weather stripping it will last forever.
i can't see it hurting anything. Think of all the stuff the bushings are exposed to in daily/yearly driving. wd-40 is the least of your concerns.
This is by no means a FIX, just something I tried to get rid of an annoying squeak one day. The dealer would have the proper lube for the bushings, and that is the way to go.

I had mine fixed @ the dealer about 2 weeks ago and they seem fine. They used the E-code bushings and no clunk yet.. It will be fine all spring-summer-fall. And then once the real cold weather starts then we will see if the clunk comes back. So far I am happy with the work Great Neck Mazda did. I was in by 7:30am and out before 9am, I give them a BIG thumbs up.. I recommend this dealer to anyone in the NYC-LI area.

Not to my knowledge... They just replaced the bushings with the E-code ones.. I only get the clunk when it is cold outside, say Nov-March.. This is the second time I have had them replaced under warranty. The 1st ones lasted June-Nov..If these go bad then I have until Nov before the clunk returns.
