yup, that's them so far. And my I remind you, this is something they came up with without telling me, and even tested using another MSP also without telling me.... this is why I'm pissed.

But, all that aside, they are actually pretty good so far...knock on wood.

I believe its "156E" b/c my dealer told me they are waiting for "E" series to arrive!!!! :bs: I bet ya "E" series will fail as well, b/c bushing are not our problem as we discused several times. BAMN MAZDA

Congratulations to Mazda, because they figured out how to solve the problem! Superb handling cars have been using rubber/polyurethane bushings for years without problems, but Mazda decides that they aren't good enough, and coat them in teflon! Yeah, way to ******* go I can see the press release now - "Chief Engineer at Mazda Gets Cookie For Job Well Done"

these MAzda people are frikkin fools...I'm so sick of this issue.
I don't think its the engineers fault; I blame the accountants! If the engineers have a degree that's worth wiping themselves with, they know what the issue is, but are trying to find cheaper ways to do it in order to follow budget rules...determined by who? Accountants and lawyers.

I have been clunk free for almost 4000 miles. All i did was added a piece of rubber between bushing and the frame. hmmmm... And it has been cold in the mornings. Also no squeeks.

So these teflon lined bushings part number is 156E?

if this is true im gonna get my dealer to order them in for me and see if they do indeed fix the damn clunk... arhg...

I don't believe the 156E's are teflon coated. Not that this means anything , but my service manager didn't say that they were coated when he put them on. What we all have to keep in mind, I had the Energy bushings on for approximately a year before they failed. Just currious NEWF, have you been given an unlimited amount of time to test this "new" bushing or were you given a time frame?

the reason these cars have problems is cause the msp and mp3 parts are from the us, not factory installed parts from japan

No its becuase the real design by racing beat in the US was down graded becuase it would require mor parts.

from what I have been told, the Racing Beat design was extremely stiff, and not practical for every day use.

newf, at this point, I'd question everything you've been told by Mazda . If mazda told me the sky was blue, I'd have to go refer to an indipendent color specialist to confirm, before I let myself believe them.

I haven't only been talking to Mazda. I can certainly tell you this, that a lot of the "speculation" and rumors on this site as to what the real problem is, and what the "Real" fix should be is bulls***. People trying to make fact out of no real proof and only theories.

I don't give a s*** what the problem is anymore. My Mp3 right now does not clunk. it's the best it's ever been, even for handling, the bushings are still holding up...but it's too soon to say it's really fixed. But if it stays this way...I'm done.

that's really all that matters to me at this point.

here is a pic of what i did, and i have been clunk free for a while now. I got my new bushings put on in june when i got my LSD put in. the also used teflon tape. You can see the small piece of rubber i added.

Well said.....Newf you have gone beyond what most will do...if these E bushings are what stopped your clunk.....then you are the best tester.....
