Clunk Updates

MRMP3 from what you've read does the lemon law to only people that bought new, or would it apply if I bought my car used from a private party.

btw: The endlinks are also being looked at as far as I know. I do know for a fact they have considered them in the problem as well. Since day one I have stressed the need to replace the weak end links, and that there had to be something else causing the problem, and the coming loose bushings are the result. Bushings aren't meant to take that much weight imho, and where they are located, they are taking all the load of the suspension movement.

this is all still just rehashing things we already knew.

Hey, if this clunk is still not taken care of before Winter, and I removed my sway bar completely. Would their be any conseqences by doing this? as far as I am concerned, I do not need the sway bar during the winter months anyways. But if there is the slightest chance of it damaging something....forget it.

So has anybody thought about just replacing the rear sway bar with the thick AWR bar 21mm I think it is?

Would this unit be just as good as the racing beat, better, worse?

It would suck to have to pay to replace something you shouldn't have to pay to replace but if it actually upgraded the suspension it wouldn't be all that undesirable.

I promise I will post right here if mine EVER fail!!! Don't forget, my dealer is authorized by Mazda to use these as factory replacements on the MP3 and the MSP.
1244 (msporange

Mazda of Bedford (Cleveland, Ohio) (440) 439-2323

anybody upgrade their endlinks yet?? i know someone had a site with endlinks b4 but the cost 100+

I have the 21.5mm AWR bar.
I don't have it installed yet.
It shipped with mounting brackets for a P5, the rear subframe is different on the MP3/MSP so they don't fit. You will notice if you look at the RB bar that it has bends where the bushings are.
The AWR bar does not.
I've been waiting patiently for my new brackets to arrive, Tony is good to deal with, I think he got screwed by the machinist that makes them for him.
I will make sure I tell everyone how it is once I have this bar installed.
Note: The endlinks that came with this bar are HUGE. I was going to install just them and see what happens, but haven't.

Bringing my car in sept 5th to get my clunk fixed. This is the 1st time I'll have it serviced for this issue, do I need to tell them anything special or just that it seem the endlinks on the sway bar are loose.

hate the clunk

have been dealing with this issue as well since i bought my mp3 in 01. let me know if there is anyhting I can help with. I am so sick of this s***.

can't say anything, but we might have some good news about this in about 4 weeks time.

cross your fingers, and everything else. When I can say something for sure, I will.

Until then...do not ask me.

NOTE: That's a date that I am guessing with, that's not a date from Mazda. I'm just adding 2+2 and that's what I figure.

*knuckles turn white from crossing fingers so hard*
btw, 1st(craig) sorry I dropped off the planet for a week...was on vacation and didn't realize it when I was all gung ho last week.
Im back now, but will be away for work for another week soon...
so lets just roll with what newf is saying for the time being :)

I am contacing a lawyer already, I hope to have a answer on if we have grounds for a lawsuit shortly.

let me know what happens 1sty

Guys, keep complaining to your dealer until we know for sure that all is good. don't let up on this.

mine is in today for bushing/enlink replacement; I'll quiz the service manager and see if he has any news (probably not, but its worth asking)

Mine was just in for a bushing replacement. They were out of bushings for quite some time so its been clunking since late April/May. In fact, it must have caused further damage to itself from the wait because they had to replace then endlinks as well. They are also replacing my back passenger strut for some noise its still making. This sucks.

just for kicks.

My Speed has 4000 kms on it, original bushings, is clunking, but is nowhere near as bad as the mp3

all of them do/will eventually (sorry)

spoke to my dealer today and he said that if there is a fix on the way from MNAO, they will ask that we not change any parts today...I asked that he push back for me...he didn't sound like he would. If he calls and says they won't do it, I'll have to politely give him an earful, and insist that it be done. If Mazda doesn't want to keep replacing it, then they should have stuck to the original design, tested it, and done it right the first time. I should not knowingly have to "give them a break" because they screwed up something I paid a hell of a lot of money for...

and my inspection was due...d'oh: there goes another $100
