Clunk Updates

those end links and brackets are old news. We knew this before I even bought mine. It was part of my arguement when complaining to Mazda

1st MP3 in NH: I wish I did get the car for free :), heck even the 500.00 would have been nice, but no such luck.

I'm still working on this guys, everything indicates that there is an end to this madness, but we still have to wait. **puts head down and runs like hell **

since i got my new bushings i have a squeeking noise now instead of a clunk??

anyone try putting a grease fitting in the stock bushings and drill a hole through the bushing and a groove along the inside of the bushing so we ca grease our stock ones?? I want to try this but if i need another set my dealer will deny me warrenty.

I gave you more credit then that I said $500,000!

yawn...if this would go away, and finally get fixed, I could possibly be the most excited person in the world...well not really excited, just relieved that I can stop driving my car with paranoia that something is wrong...every turn I take, every bump I hit, I'm always listening or 'feeling' if somehting is up...Just think how much fun it would be to have worry free driving! Wouldn't that be novel? My car is no longer on the market, and I'm in it for the long haul...I can't deal with driving a lesser (lesser being old and nasty, although free) car, and that's what I'd end up doing. I'm really rambling...sorry. the clunk sucks and so do Mazda's accountants for not heeding RB's suggestions about the entire set up for the suspension because they figured that the "eventual problem" would arise further down the road on these cars and that would be after the warranty was up and we'd be up the river with no paddle; not their problem.

HES GOT A PROTO TYPE!!!!

now now relax guys. Don't excited for nothing...

geesh, just a one simple line and people jump to conclusions. I'm just as bad off as the rest of you guys right now, and getting just as pissed too.

Newf, Have you had the clunk yet? I can't search, out to sea on Navy ship. Lemme know!!! 5 Months and still no clunk with my greaseables.

ITs weird man i have had 4 updates of new posts in here yet there are none, wtf?

this s*** happened before with another clunk update thread I had. It eventually locked up and I gave up trying to post to it. Unsubscribe to the thread and all should be fine

well, it's been a long time since I posted anything here. And there are reasons why. most of which I am not allowed to write here so I won't. Maybe some day I can tell the entire story, but I have no reason to want to break my trust with Mazda so I'm going to have to be a little vague.

But, I just wanted to add that I have not given up on this yet. Many of you know I moved into a 2003.5 Speed, well guess what? It has the clunk as well. I lasted 2500 kms though before having to hear it again. And damn was that time ever nice. No noise whatsoever, and I really enjoyed the car during that time

Guess we can only buy speeds, drive them for 2500 kms or so, then sell em eh?

Anyways, I have not had an update from Mazda in quite some time. At least nothing positive. My last impression was that Mazda Canada has left this problem in the hands of Mazda USA. Now, nobody has straight out told me this, but from what I have been told about other things, and the absence of any updates lately, I'm left guessing, and I know Mazda USA was trying to get this fixed as well, and were trying to develope a sample bushing as well.

I haven't seen the US fix, or been told anything about thier latest effort. Originally Canada had come up with something, I tried it, and all of Mazda USA and CAnada, and Japan was waiting on my word. I was sending updates to all, but the bushings failed again, and back to the drawing board we go. Fabricating these things, testing them, and redesigning them again when something doesn't work takes a s*** load of time. Unfortunately, Just like MAzda does everything else, this is taking a lot more time then it really should. And I'm really getting impatient with this as I and every mp3/msp owner have a right to be.

Technically, I'm not even supposed to write this s***, but they have left me hanging for too long.

I think it's time we push the dealers again. Bug the @#$% out of them, demand a fix, and get mazda sweating more. I think their being very very relaxed with this issue lately, and with those of us just waiting for a fix and not bitching to the dealers, it takes some heat off of MAzda. Their release of the rx-8, and now the mazda 3 is without a doubt becoming more important then a proper bushing fix I'm sure. I have no reason to think that besides my own theories, but after waiting this long, it is clear to me that they aren't putting enough effort into this at all.

I've been at this since Oct 2001 originally. I finally got Mazda into this around Jan 2003 after sending my 4th letter to them in Nov 2002. This is getting old. Were now looking at 8 months since they said they would help. I have seen their efforts, and they are trying.....but it is taking way too long. Companies design cars in less time then this.

Please don't ask me questions that I cannot answer...hint hint.

There has got to be at least one person on here who is, or that know's a lawyer that would love to start up a class action on this...

or how about Mazda sacks up and uses RB's original design, and replaces our stuff? no wait, that's too moral and not cost effective.
